    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry joe1979 Banned but still posting for sale ads?

I was interested in purchasing several large boas from Joe Lyons a week ago. The prices were really good, probably too good. He was in a hurry to get rid of them. He wanted to ship Fed Ex in 88 degree weather. I told him I was not comfortable doing that and the shipment needed to go Airfreight. I doubt 10-20lb. boas would be even remotely cost effective to ship with Fed Ex. I see he now has two more ads up, for a trio of boas and a trio of ball pythons. His account is now listed as banned. How is he able to still post ads if he has a banned account? In a boa for sale ad there is a back and forth with Joe and a potential buyer of Joe's snakes where Joe accuses the buyer of being unreliable, and the buyer says that he had to get paypal involved to get his money back for snakes that Joe never shipped him. Does anyone have dealings with Joe positive or negative? Thanks.
 
Did you consider that the account was banned AFTER he posted those ads?
 
Also, the Joe1979 account was just registered today...so he was using a different account, registered under a different name, when you were dealing with him a week ago. Hopefully, you didn't actually miss that part.
Red flags?
 
For the record, the previous account was Landyn2013, and it was registered to "Landyn loyns". I'm guessing that that the :censored: registered the account under the name of his toddler son. He only registered the Joe1979 account in order to bypass the ban on Landyn2013.
Trustworthy? Not for me to say - but, with those antics, he'd never see a dime of my money.
 
Joe Lyon or Whoever who really is.

He had two phone #'s, at least three different names, and lots of stories. I was wondering if anyone sent him money for the snakes he had listed last week, and what happened to their orders? If he is now banned under his real(?) name, do the ads get removed?

I believe Joe Lyons to be his real name. The ads placed under the Joe1979 account show no contact information; and I'm not removing them at this time. (I likely will in the future)
For the record, neither account is permanently banned at this time...but neither ban will be allowed to expire until some issues are addressed.

He was really desperate to get money into his paypal account. Joe said he had to get rid of the boas quickly because they just found out his wife was having twins. When I tried to contact him said that he was in the middle of feeding his Gaboon vipers and would have to call me back. Odd, I would worry more about the vipers than the boas around children. After multiple phone calls and 75 text messages between us, I told him I was out due to the weather being to hot to ship and the snakes being too large to ship unless he used airfreight. "my wife is now upset and with her being this far along in the pregnancy its not gud(his spelling)." The guilt trip email made the deal seem even more likely to be a scam. Hopefully not too many people sent him money.
 
Thank you for posting this thread - I now know of two people that sent him money & received nothing. I have sent both links to this thread, and encouraged them to post their experiences.
 
I had a interaction with him as well i was lurchasing the 6ft female kahl albino he had i sent him a fifty dollar deposit an he said he would ship it out soon as the payment cleared i thought that was odd but with the story about hom having a salmonella scare with his first son an now having twons an his girlfriend not wanting snakes around them i was okay with it an the price was low so i thoight nothing of it when shipling day came he said my bad i messed up an they wouldnt be shipped till the following monday so with thay being done i openend a case agaist him on paypal for my money back he said i would have it back that night ot was saturday when i did the case an monday i still had no money refunded so i bumped the case up to a claim and paypal was investigating him but then on monday he was relisting snakes an trying to sell them so i confronted him on here an i was sent a message threatening me about the stuff i posted on his ads about him being a fraud it ended up with me getting banned as well as him for the stuff I said im new here an didnt know about the rules and again im very sorry about that but i finally got my money back and paypal is also investigating him and his account they also put his account on a suspended list after everything i told paypal i have a pic of his id of anyone would care to see it
 
Unfortunately, I've fallen victim to what I now see is a scam... Just like everyone else, he responded to my inquiry about some boas he had posted for sale and told me the story about the "twins being otw"(his words) and needed to get rid of some of collection; he even offered to send me the snakes while 50% of the balance was still owed (I thought he was just being a good guy, who REALLY wanted thelse boas gone). He sent pictures and gave me background which seemed legit, so I went for it. At this point in time, he was suppose to send me the boas on 2 separate occasions. After being stood the second time, I gave him the choice of either sending the snakes, refunding my money or having charges brought against him for fraud. He then says that he'd send them out for Thursday (8/11) delivery but, when I ask him for a tracking number his "wife" responses and says "he's sleep, he'll have them out by 5pm"... odd thing is this, the first time he was supposed to ship he (or whoever it was texting me from a different number) said that he wasn't able to them out by noon, and there would not have been a guarantee for next day arrival, if that was the case then why are sending them out at 5pm now? After reading everyone else's comments, I know that there's no way this guy ISN'T a scammer and I plan on taking whatever legal action I have to in order to get my money back.
 
I dont know how to ppst the message between me an him an i dont know if you would consider it as a threat but i took it as one the message said. U have 5 min to remove
