    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Whatcha like shooting?

Time to generate some kind of reply/conversation in here. So what do you all like to photograph and what kind of gear is everyone using? I mostly do commercial work in my studio with a Sinar P 4x5, not much real exciting. I actually enjoyed my last job more shooting mostly glamor/nudes but this one pays better. I'm still primarilly a film guy still but I do have a Kodak 14n that I'll use if I don't need the quality that a 4x5 trans gives. I also enjoy just throwing a couple Nikons in a bag and heading for the mountains to shoot whatever, hey it gets me out of the studio at least. Suprisingly enough I really don't shoot the reptiles all that much, I'm not sure why I just never have been all that hot on it.

As far as this forum goes what would you like to see here?

Perhaps I am misreading your intention. But this thread title "Whatcha like shooting (besides your load)?'; specifically the portion in parentheses, comes off like a blatant sexual innuendo.

Personally, I wish you had not added that last part. It is crass and in poor taste. MO, it is offensive.

Maybe a little but it got a response at least, kind of. I figured it would be a title that would catch attention and hopefully people would open it, read the thread and with any luck generate some actual conversation. No offence intended, I really didn't think it was that bad.

Unfortunately I don't know much about or engage in photography as a hobby, so I can't really participate in this forum much.

I do have to admit though, the title of the thread is an attention grabber. It may be just what this forum needs to get it's jump start. :shrug01:

I welcome any knowledge you can impart regarding photography. I just got a digital about a year ago. I have a 35mm SLR Pentax from 30 years ago that takes quality photos. It sits in a drawer and will probably rarely be used anymore. Most of my photography is intended to document rather than create scrapbooks or "art". The digital is perfect for that.

My opinion about the title still stands.
But, boy Sean, you have been getting slammed in the karma department!
