    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am having new stone tile floors installed in my kitchen, family room, entry, fireplace, and both bathrooms. The installers are running a day behind, so the new carpet that was to be installed today will have to be postponed. Why are they running a day behind? Well....

3 OUT OF THE 5 WORKERS HAVE NO GREEN CARDS!!!!

I am having a mosaic border put around the borders of my fireplace and entry, and when I asked the workers if they like the border, they looked at me with that "deer in the headlight" look and panicked. One finally spoke saying, "No, we don't like the border" and then they left! :bolt01:

I have been listening to Spanish spoken in my house for the third day in a row, and asked them to turn off their Mexican music which was driving me crazy. Today, I will be playing Andrea Bocelli and Pavarotti at full volume.
 
Being that it is illegal to hire illegal immigrants, you can threaten to call INS if they do not start working on your place so it will be done in time. After they are done you can report the guy who hired them, from what I understand it is a hefty fine.
 
Michael, around here the INS will do absolutely NOTHING, and the illegal workers can claim discrimination and racism if I reported them. Fortunately, the ones that thought I was talking about the USA and Mexican border (instead of the tile border, LOL!) are gone. My job is still a day late, and now we are minus 3 workers. California sucks sometimes...
 
I realize I'm a minority voice in this discussion..but if Mexicans or any other immigrants who will work for pitiful salaries were'nt doing the hard labour..who do you think will?
 
Why allow yourself to be exploited and paid such pitiful salaries? Farmers have money to spend, paying for illegals is pennies on the dollar. I know of a few thousand kids that would gladly work on farms if the farmers paid them what they should. Kick the illegals out that we are spending so much on intaxes and pay the legal workers a proper wage.

Jack, I have no problem at all with immigrants, but there is a HUGE difference between an immigrant and an illegal alien. Immigrants come here to stay permanently, and many become proud Americans. An illegal alien is only here temporarily, and is undocumented by our government. These types of workers are not the ones the USA needs... the kind that pay taxes and contribute to the country's economy.

These guys are getting paid cash under the table by the contractors, and then go home to Mexico to spend their money. Their kids are in our schools here in California and do not speak English, thereby lowering the overall test scores. California's schools are funded according to these test scores, and in many areas there is no funding at all as a result.

In California, it is illegal to turn anyone down for medical care, so when illegal aliens get sick and go to the doctors and hospitals, they are undocumented and have fake ID's. This means the doctors and hospitals don't get paid, and lose literally millions of dollars that result in increased taxes and medical care costs.

Illegal aliens come to California and collect State benefits with fake ID's and Social Security cards, which costs legitimate workers billions of dollars in taxes. They do not pay into this country's Social Security program, which is essential in order for our future retirees to survive on. Our SSI dollars are quickly dwindling because fewer workers are paying into it, and medical costs are rising every day.

So, I don't mind having Mexican (or any other nationality for that matter) workers or students here as long as they are subject to the same laws and level of benefits that American citizens are, and I really don't want illegal workers getting paid for laying tile in my house that the contractor could pay an 18 year old apprentice mason the wages.
