After trying many a time to get James to make this right, I have finally decided to make a thread about this. Hopefully no one will have to go through the pain and hassle and loss I have.

I responded to his ad about rats. I was planning on starting some colonies to support my growing BP projects. Well, after a couple days of going back and forth and forth again, we decided on a fair trade and a ship day. I shipped Monday for Tuesday, via UPS, tracking number 1Z 184 X70 13 3900 035 3. I had to contact him to make sure everyone got there alright. He VERY happily received 3.0 High-end bearded dragon, 0.0.1 American gator and 0.1 albino gerbil.

In this email he admits the trade value of $710 of mine received, healthy and happy.

After dealing with him and his broken promises for a couple days, I gave him an ultimatium. Fly up today [Friday] or ship them for Saturday delivery. He shipped them, cause that's all he could pay for. He got into this trade with absolutely no money to back it up. He said for waiting so long, he would throw in 0.2 1000gram plus ball pythons, normals. In addition to the the 800 gram lemon-colored female and the 3 hatchlings of same color i was already supposed to recieve in trade. Also, the list of rodents in the above email.
All of the rodents died in transit. This guy needs to learn how to ship. The balls were in a bag, in a tupperware with no cushioning. no cool packs. very little newspaper. There are the tracking numbers i recieved:

He is under the impression that I owe him. Even though he is extremely happy with my animals, though i doubt they will live long on his dog food diet and no UVB. If they are not dead and frozen already.
What i actually received:
0.3 skinny, stuck shed, less than 200 gram, completely normal ball pythons. although i was told at the show that one has the markers for het pied. One died shortly after receiving her.
0.1 - slight-yellow, 547 gram [NOT 100gram] ball python
0.1 - 512 gram normal.
0.5, not 0.6 like promised and grossly misrepresented.

I friend of mine is willing to go down there and pick up the remaining $300 plus that James owes me, but James has threatened to shoot any trespassers. He flat refuses to make this right anytime soon. He boasts 50k in animals, a new car, etc, etc, but doesn't have money to ship, replace DOA's or drive up here to deliver what's mine.
I don't have all the Yahoo IM convos, but he says he does and will post all of them. I'm hoping he will. I'm not partically proud of everything I've said to him, but oh well. That is what the BOI is here for, for everything to come to light.

No, i didn't have a TOS for him. I offered a 30 day health guarentee with my animals, but he voided it when he fed my beardies dog food and didn't feed them while he was out of town. Unfortunately the one ball died after 2 hours> i don't even care anymore about that one that's worth $40 tops. I just want everyone to be aware of him.
 
I did a BOI search on this guy a few days ago since I was interested in one of his ads...that "Good Guy" post you mentioned seems fishy to me. It was very short, didn't say much about the transaction, and was from a user that just registered a few days ago and has no other posts, ads, or feedback.

Like i said, I'm not proud of everything that i said to him. And i hope people realize i was under a lot of stress getting ready for a show that week.
Yea, I found that amusing too :p one second he's happy, then he's not because he knows he scammed me.
 
So you shipped him a mammal (gerbil) via UPS and he shipped you back live large rats and other mammals UPS? In August, when temps were in high 80's low 90's? You should BOTH be investigated - it is illegal (as well as unethical and cruel) to ship live mammals via UPS or any other carrier except airlines. You obviously KNEW he was sending them UPS, and agreed to it, so you are just as guilty for the animals deaths and have no right to complain.

Yes, i shipped ONE gerbil in an insulated, cold-packed, air-holed box. The same as any of my animals. I have shipped geckos in mid-winter and been fine. And i specifically shipped on a date that it was raining and only 80* during the day, 70s at night.
He packed with no styro, no air holes, covered them with saw dust and packing tape and WAY over crowded them. Yes, it's illegal. But he was already giving me a hard time and i just wanted to get something out of this deal. He promised to come and hand-deliver them, so he didn't have to ship. but again, broken promises. his '1000 plus $$ deal fell through' so he could pay to ship any other way.

I had a feelling this might happen.
I don't know how to paste,but if you go to the members list and look up this fuzzy friend and his posts,you will see some banter between him and i.
I came to the conclusion very quickly this guy was a immature individual,that didn't seem to know how to speak to people intelligently.
I was not the only person to think this guy a loser and a scammer.
Take a look at the posts from when he was trying to trade his rats for anything he could get.
Sara I'm sorry you went through this kinda crap,but please pay attention to the little red flags that pop up in your mind about some one and what they are telling you.Your young and i think you learned a valuable lesson{unfortunate circumstances} about how there are some people out there that don't care if they hurt you or animals in obtaining something for themselves.By way of lying cheating and being deceitful.
Better luck next time,cheer up now you know what to look for. :)

PS don't give someone a good trader rating until the trade is made and done. :)
 
Thanks. I left him a negative trader rating. Although he did try to get me to leave a positive one. LOL.

OK, but i am not responsible for his shipping abilities and i was. And rats are feeders, if they were shipped better and still died, but had cool packs i could have froze them and still used them. and he promised me perfect shipping. Honestly, i didn't know it was illegal until later, but i suspected it when the box came and it was completely unlabeled. When *I* called and scheduled the pickup, I told the UPS rep exactly what he and I were shipping and nothing was said. He even thought it was cute to misspell my name 'Ghetto'.

i told her that i didnt want to ship the regular rats for fear of them dieing and she said "i dont care i will feed any that die" after hearing that i felt it was ok to ship. I told her DOA's need to have an email with a pic of the animal within 2 hours. all i heard on doas was the rats died and the ball pythons were fine. a day and a half later i was told a bp died. never seen a pic. I told her before i shipped that i would replace any bps that were dead on arrival and any africans that were dead on arrival, none were, she didnt even get the package with the afs,fancy,or regular mice in it. so all she got from ups was the bps and the dead rats.

on her end, the gerbal was out when i opened the box and had almost chewed threw one of the beardies cups. No big deal, no harm done. When she shipped the aligator she told me it was legal here in n.c. ....boy was she wrong i could have gotten jail time on that. everything but the aligator i was happy about. this girl, not woman, has made numerous threats on my life, and i tried to work with her intill i couldnt stand it no more. when she made the first threat on my life i called 911, a policeman came over and read her yahoo instant message she was typeing to me. I tricked her into telling me the last name of bill from clearwater reptiles. (he was the one that was supposed to kill me) the cop immediately made me call her, and he talked to her for about 5 mins. he knew what she was going to say before he called her. i bet she didnt relise that he knew she was lieing. he told me i could get her arrested for her threating comments and demands. i make all of my customers 110% happy. ask any of my 200 refrences. i mean come on i work for slither inc!

this girl is nothing but a joke. but hey i dont have to tell you, who wants emails and yahoo conversations. lets get her off here before she screws anyone else, or kills someone. if i come up missing its because shes done come after me.
