    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Serpent Merchant/Joshua Barger Inquiry.

Earlier this year, he had an ad up on KS for a pair of proven breeder carpet pythons. I only bought the female from Josh, who told me that she laid 12 eggs the prior year. The snake arrived healthy, although it did have mites. After a quarantine period, I put the snake in with a male and the two immediately began combatting. I'd never bothered to sex this snake because "she" had supposedly laid eggs.

I e-mailed him several times and received no response. Then I discovered I had his phone # in an old e-mail and I called him. After I got ahold of him, he told me that he had bought the pair of snakes from a third party who had apparently lied to him about the eggs. Before selling them he never bothered to check their sex.

When I asked Josh what he was going to do to make this right, he informed me that he was "out of reptiles". Thus, there wasn't much he could do. He said about the only thing he could do was to offer me the other male carpet of the pair that he still had. Although I didn't really want the other snake, I assumed that since he was "out of reptiles" that was about the best I was going to get from him.

I had my doubts that he was even going to send me the other snake. I had just chalked up the whole experience to a lesson learned. He did, however, send me the other snake. This one arrived healthy also, but didn't have mites from what I could tell.

Although the whole deal obviously left a bad taste in my mouth, it did appear that Josh tried to make the situation right to the best of his abilities. It seems to me that he's not the type of person that would knowingly screw someone over. However, I'd say to deal with him at your own risk due to some of his business practices.

I have known Josh for a number of years.....he can be trusted , I have even had him care for many of my snakes over the years and he has always done his best...
