Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Im sure many of you saw it, but someone hacked fauna this morning. For those of you who didnt see it, I took a print screen.

You'd think if they were going to go to the trouble they'd at least get creative.
Pathetic.

It's still there right now. I wouldn't have seen it had you not posted it, I have the main forums page bookmarked, and hardly ever see the main page.
I bet it'd be interesting to know which disgruntled person did it though.
Sad people have nothing better to do, I'd hate to be saddled with that life.
 
How do you know?

There is probably something obvious I don't see, but how do you know it was hacked? If I came across that screen I would think there had been an error in the page or something. How can you tell it was something malicious?
 
I´m also lost!

Why would someone want to hack Fauna? What would be the reason for doing such a thing in a site where you have easy access just by joining on-line? I'm sure I'm missing something.

I think Webslave just closed the backdoor for the herpchat login. Thats the only place I seen this error.
 
Still shows up for me. I have the main page bookmarked. That is really poor. Wish there was a way to find the person who did it.

Interesting that this is shortly after Rich moved to new servers because of the slowdowns... I guess this server isn't as secure...

Who ever is doing this is causing havoc, I have had a time trying to get on here and actually post. I go through MSN and use Hotmail as well, so I am trying to check that name out.
Not happy when someone stops me from going where I like to go
 
hmm I haven't had a hard time getting here at all...and once a very kind person gave me the link to get to cornsnakes.com forums as well, I am all set.

I don't see that they really accomplished anything aside from taking down his front pages...as all the pages are still functioning as well as they were before. Although I don't know whats going on "behing the scenes" and I hope Rich does only have to deal with his front pages being down.....hopefully they wasted more of their time taking those pages down then Rich will have to restoring everything.

But from the average users standpoint....Hackers if you are reading this...you suck! LOL

If the only thing he did was change the index file on each site, he actually has some honor, and did it only for some kind of recognition....

I hope Rich can find out exactly what was done though, because depending on how secure files are, it's possible the hacker could get a record of every member's password here, as well as their email addresses (and i'm sure there is a certain percentage of the membership that uses the same password).

There could be trouble... but hopefully it was a simple prank and nothing more malicious.
 
I do hope Rich finds out who is doing this, I had to write to Ritchie who gave me a way in. The ways I was using only gave me that message.
As I told Ritchie I did get a warning about four days ago that someone opened my system while I was on here, I did a check today, I have no viruses. Scary thought people can hack like this. Hope they catch him.
 
Yes, it is scary, they could get into our private emails and PM's on here and publically post them!!!! :D
 
Well when you consider Paypal accounts are linked to emails.. and again, there are some lazy people out there with one password for everything....
