Watch Out For Corey Kingsbury Of Kingsbury Exotics!!!

Corey drove over 2 hours with his wife and kids to come here. He left his kids sleeping outside in his van in the rain for close to 2 hours while he and his wife Thelma were here dealing with us.

Corey came and hand picked $1170 in animals for his "business". We let him take the animals on consignment with the understanding that he would pay us as he sold things and them some every week. He has since sold some of the animals to pet stores, kept some for himself, and traded some to friends. It has been well over a month, and after numerous unaswered phone calls and excuses of why he couldn't return them nor our emails we find out that Corey told another business he was going to screw us over. We recevied a phone call from Brandon of Twinstate Reptiles (the company Corey told he got all this stuff and didn't intend to pay us) and learn to find out Corey owes this company money and animals also.

We finally hear from Corey after calling him and explaining that we are willing to drive to Vermont to come pick up the animals and get the money for animals he sold. He told us he would ship. After a week and a half nothing shows up. We again repeatedly called and sent tons of emails that once again went unanswered. We left a message for Corey explaining we would be in Vermont and wanted to come pick up the animals, but then he has his wife Thelma send us an email with a tracking number. We get the box finally, supposedly containg the animals he had left that he didn't sell or trade, and some other animals (6' green iguana, 6' green tree boa, eastern milksnake and one redtail) to offset the cash he owed.

Well once the box is opened, not only did he NOT send those animals to make up the difference, BUT he didn't include all the animals he said he didn't sell, OR A CHECK!!! He right now has an outstanding balance with us of $451 (which is including the 14 baby turtles we purchased from him). Plus, we're not even including the shipping we paid to get our own animals back. He must have received the letter from our attorney, which is why he posted negatively about us. I'm sure there be some great story he'll come up with here to explain all of this, as he's had a bad rap on the BOI as well. We did the right thing by Corey to help him out with his inventory, and got ripped off, and here he is trying to make himself look good, so when this all comes out in the open, he's not such a bad guy. Yeah right.

I have notifited our wholesalers, breeders, friends and everyone else to watch out for Corey, unless he pays cash up front. And I'm sure Brandon will be happy to some on and explain his situation with Corey.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY! UNLESS HE'S PAYING CASH HE'S BIG TROUBLE!

What type of proof would you like to see? He came here in person, I have the Airborne shippign receipt of the things he shipped back to me, but will not answer my emails nor phone calls.

Was there anything signed when he took the animals from you?
What were the animals he took?
In the Email Thelma sent you besides the tracking number, did it say anything else, like what they were sending you back?
A copy of the letter your attorney sent to them?
Anything that would lend credence to what you are saying.

Well Alison/Sal without any physical proof that he took those animals on consignment your post is nothing more than you trying to change the focus off you and onto someone else. If it really did happen how does it feel? Do you like it? Now you know how YOUR customers feel. If you truly did give Him animals on consignment you have to have some kind of documentation showing it and if you did not or do not have any documentation or proof then this thread should be deleted.

I will have to figure out somehow to get our attorney's letter posted. We will be taking him to court if we do not receive the balance owed, which I can post all records of that when it happens.

When Corey came with his wife and kids, Sal went on the trust and a handshake after this deal was made with no money down. Corey's wife Thelma had a little notebook with what they wanted, and the list they made. He spoke with him on the phone after Corey did not pay us which is how we came up with the additional animals since he did not have the cash available. I do have his telephone messages he left here saying the stuff will be shipped...about 4 of them, but that does no good via the internet.

Not only that. I had done a website for Corey and his business which he was supposed to give me at least $25 down for the domain. His site was finished and up and he couldn't even send the $25 for that.

Funny Thing Is...

A few months ago Corey instant messaged me and said he really liked getting most of his stuff from Upstate Exotics. He said it was not to far for him to drive there and they had good prices. At that time I had remembered having read some negative comments about them here but didn't mention anything to him because he was obviously content dealing with them. Now I have my doubts about dealing with either side of this situation. Sometimes I don't know who to believe so it ends up a negative for both parties.

This is a really weird situation for me. I really do not want to "stick up" for upstate in anyway, shape or form but I did hop on over to the other thread and read what you wrote Corey.
Can you post this invoice you talked about?
And I really find it hard to believe, with upstates track record of not even wanting to refund a mere $40.00 that Sal would "insist" on you taking these animals on credit.
I am sort of thinking that perhaps since you know upstate has a bad rap(which is warrented) it is a good time for you to take advantage of.
You need to provide something. Do you have actual emails from people who you had to give a partial refund to?
You can show proof.
Wondering if this is just two bad guys duking it out. Either way I want to know if I need to put Corey on my list of who not to buy from as well.

Take it however you choose but the fact of the matter is, I agreed to pay for healthy animals in a timely manner, I recieved misrepresented animals that the majority died after purchase. The supplier was notified of each death and carcasses were frozen, only recently were they disposed of but I got upstates permission before doing so. If you choose to judge me negatively becouse of my poor decision to do business with a crook then so be it. As for proof of my refunding a customer for 3 toed boxs, thats not relavent becouse I wasnt even asking for that from Upstate. If I had an invoice for her refund I would gladly post but I dont believe I have one. My wife does all my book keeping and I will be glad to post anything I can find on this. I have had many computer problems and past emails are gone. Being that I am not asking for anything, I dont see any burden of proof. I owe nothing to Upstate and as far as Im concerned its a done deal.

one more thing

Allison claims I sold the animals to pet stores. I could not sell those sick ball pythons to local pet shops. They were dying left and right, like I needed that over my head, I am not about to throw away my customers by selling them your garbage. Maybe I could have sent upstate some money if they had given me animals that were suitable for resale. I dont sell sick animals.

Also, here's how Corey shipped to us.





You know, this is when it really SUCKS. Corey comes on here saying how great everything is, and when he gets caught trying to screw us over, he uses the BOI against us.

He told numerous people he was looking to not pay us for the animals. We were contacted by THEM, which is when we started placing phone calls to Corey to find out why he wouldn't return our calls or emails.

Apparently also, Corey took animals from Twinstate Reptiles on credit that he was claiming, like us, was FORCED on him. Corey came here and hand picked MOST of those animals for a deal that he had with some guy. He wanted to make the cash off the sale, so he had this guy check out our website and Corey told him "I'll handpick what you want when I go to Upstate". That's where most of these animals went. So he got paid, made a few dollars, and STILL couldn't pay us.

We wrote up an invoice and I was on my way.

No one was ever notified of any DOA's. In any DOA situation we have, we ask for a VET REPORT. But for you, we would tell you to just get rid of the DOA's? I don't think so. Especially since you owed us so much money.

As for the shipping, as I said earlier, I was out of shipping supplies and after a weekend of nasty messages I used what I had available. I put most items in cloth bags, and the baby savanah in a deli cup. I sealed them in a box with newspaper shreds and then into a larger box surrounded by newspaper for protection. all corners of the box had air holes. so whats next guys?? this is amusing.

If you hand picked the BP's how were you not aware there was something wrong? Did you look them over and see if they were active, responsive, had good weight, etc and why didn't you immediately return all of them if some started dying?

I'm not sicking up for anyone, but it seems really odd, that you went there and picked them up, but yet they were to sick for you to sell to a petstore????? If you received them through the mail, that would be understandable, but to pick up live animals and have time to look through them and inspect them, then take home sick ones makes no since. Most sick animals about to die should at least look sick??? Maybe i'm missing something. It makes it look like you figured what the heck, they have a bad name who is going to believe them anyway..maybe I'm totally off track here??

AS MOST OF YOU KNOW COREY KINGSBURY AND US HERE AT TWIN-STATE REPTILES WERE REAL CLOSE. WE DID ALOT OF DEALS TOGETHER AND BOTH PARTIES HAVE ALWAY BEEN HAPPY. WE BOTH POSTED GREAT STUFF ABOUT EACH OTHER HERE ON THE BOI. SO YOU MAY BE ASKING YOURSELF WHAT HAPPENED?? 2 BUSINESS WORKING CLOSE TOGETHER AND NEVER HAVING ANYTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT EACH OTHER?? WELL HERE IS THE DEAL.

BACK IN THE BEGINNIGN OF JUNE OR END OF MAY WE BROUGHT OVER $$700 WORTH OF ANIMALS AN CAGES TO COREY.
