So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'd like to simply inform you people that I would recommend using caution when dealing with this individual. I had noticed he was advertising a pair of ADULT het pieds. One proven male and a 1400 gram unproven female. Both from Pete Kahl apparently. We can always use more pieds in our current projects so obviously this interested me considering they would produce for us this season. We've had plenty of hets of our own but picking up a few that could produce for us this season is ALWAYS ideal.

Here is our correspondence literally minutes after he posted his advertisment.... Our emails will be in navy, his will be in red.....

This is where it began smelling quite fishy. I decided to go ahead and email him from a gmail address, I looked up the ad on kingsnake and to my surprise I had found it was already removed! I had a horrible feeling that this was either a scam or somethng was just not right about it. I also had a feeling that if I did indeed email him from a different address that these same specimens would magically be up for sale to someone not as well known as myself...

Since the ad was no longer running I duplicated the email info from the kingsnake add such as the title and ect. and sent him a mail from a gmail account with a similar inquiry, i've listed this correspondence below as well.

Remember, this is a good ten minutes after he had stated he was no longer selling them. Again, our emails will be navy, his will be red. This time he beleives it is an inquiry from some random joe schmoe and not top shelf exotics. And low and behold, THEYRE FOR SALE AGAIN!

In my book, this is what I call -busted-. This may very well not prove a scam, but it certainly tells me that this is one individual I would certainly NEVER personally deal with nor recommend to anyone for that matter. Please use caution dealing with this person and use this experience of ours to educate your decisions.

Note: This is a shared experience, we have no way of proving whether or not he was mis-representing specimens or attempting to scam. YET. I am sure he can easily offer random specimens and have someone vouch he had made a purchase. So far along the lines of a scam, it certainly seems like one. As always... You be the judge. Please use EXTREME caution when dealing with this individual. And feel free to browse down to the list of "similar" links, ironically they are all "Bad Guy" or similar posts.......... Go figure.

Chris.... I don't know about Daniel's het Female, but I DO KNOW that Pete IS selling Adult Het Pied Males.... He offered them to me, personally.... I'd be very concerned about Daniel's Female, though.... unless you can verify THAT ONE, I'd leave skid marks!!....

And that's the reason why it is suggested to check the BOI before attempting any deal (You know...."If it's to good to be true"...). Haney has built quite a reputation in this site over time .

Yes, I knew it sounded fishy, which is why I attempted to set him up after he claimed he had changed his mind about selling them. Low and behold................... Busted. I found it quite odd his emails kept coming from "jahaira haney" ... perhaps his mother? sister? wife? third member pet name?

I was aware he purchased five MALES from Pete....... I remember seeing the add. Just because someone purchases something from someone, does not mean thats exactly what you are receiving however.... I could easily sell someone a Het for lown ball python and they can use my name to confirm this. Does this mean what they are sending you is what they purchased from me? No. I've seen it happen PLENTY of times. This seems to be one of those cases, which is why I was interested in doing my homework with this one. I knew before my very first email that this was somehow B.S.... Surprisingly it ended up being rather easy.

Most of his "ads" list photos, but when additional photos are requested or photos of specific specimens are requested he claims not to have them or that they are too big to post. Strange, Wonder why.................

Afterwards in a few emails he sent "explaining himself" he claimed that the female was a buddies........... I could honestly care less about what came from where, all I know is what I caught him doing. After that, well, anything else out of his mouth sounded more like..... "b.s......b.s.......b.s...............b.s................"

Everything he stated could have very well been 100% true, but you know what? I could care less. The second I made a genuine inquiry and made it known I would do my homework before purchasing he got frightened and backed down. And then minutes later, after claimiing they were no longer for sale, he got sent a "fake" inquiry from someone who seemed not very interested in details ready to throw money at him and guess what?? They were magically up for sale again! Slice it which ever way you want, in my book hes just as good as any low life scam artist........ I made sure to mention that this is our opinion and a description of our experience, people can take from this whatever they wish. It's more than obvious however that the majority views him for exactly what he is.........

Hopefully this remains an education tool for those looking to inquire about DHSERPS and Daniel Haney for years to come. Buyer Beware. Also, anyone who purchased those adult hets from Dan that orginated from kahl, you may want to photograph them and send them to Pete for verification. Just to be safe.........
 
Isn't DHserps also the guy who tried to sell normals as pastels a few months back here on Fauna, I'm positive it is.

When I get my PC back I will dig up his pics and ads. I know I saved them as I figured he'd try to pass off normals as morphs again down the road.

He must think everyone is quite stupid. It was an absolute PLEASURE setting him up when I saw his most recent ad. It sounded EXTREMELY fishy.... When I see female adult het ANYTHINGS I jump usually, and am prepared to do my homework. We're always looking to bring new females into our program, just like anyone else.... Coming from him hwoever I knew soemthing had to be up. Took all of ten minutes to figure out it was bull****.... Soon as someone knowledgable showed an interest he ran like a little child but had NO problem accepting an offer from someone who seemed to show little interest in details. He's quite the stand-up guy in my book. We keep a list of "SCUMBAGS" in our office. On the 3rd when we re-open I'll be putting his name right below William Horn of Briarpatch Herps. I hope he is pleased.................
 
Hmmm.... typo, I must have pasted the wrong thread. Thanks for the correction. Anyone can simply type in DSHERPS or DAN HANEY in the search feature and they will be bombarded with bad guy BOI posts........

I almost bought a male het pied from him for $350. I wasn't buting until Pete responded to my e-mail. Pete didn't respond for almost 3 weeks and he did verify that Daniel did buy 5 breeder het pied males from him. Pete offered me a het pied also. I didn't make the purchase from Daniel due to the delay in response from Pete but at least the males were probably legit.

Chris do your homework, check out all youd like.This post is just like the only other accused bad guy post that I have you feel you have these super asumptions and they have to be true.When people "ASSUME" Things you know what they say. I guess Im a scam artist as far as it goes for giving someone their money back when I decided not to sell them an adult pair of Albino Boas because they wanted to act like a child. Ask yourself this if I was a scam artist why didnt I keep Hanks money. As far as the pastel goes the thread I posted the pics what else do you want. I have by far way more good posts than negative. Actually every negative post someone assumed somnething. You know Chris every single time you respond to one of my ads we bump heads do you have something against me? Thats why I decided it was better we not do business. If you want to call me a scamer, conman do what you feel is right Im ok with that I will ask you to find one person that I have ripped off and have them post something.You cant find one. Maybe you cant tell but im not in the business of selling hets, 90% of what I sell are visual morphs. If you think I was trying to screw you then hey Its a good thing you didnt buy the so-called fake hets. This will be the only post that I post on this subject. So you can come back on here be sarcastic pound your chest do whatever you feel but I still be here.

Sure Daniel. I've never once had a problem with you, and even inquired about your original add when you were selling the ADULT 100% het pied hets. A customer of mine here locally was searching and we would not have minded either, for various reasons we decided against it. It had nothing to do with you, in fact I do not believe we have shared harsh words ONCE before this incident, so I do not know what you are talkign about daniel. I do know that you are quite fond of making excuses however, and this looks to be one of them. With this recent ad of yours I inquired with genuine interest, but was sure to do my homework. No one was out to get you, I was actually quite interested in the fermale. Soon as I made it known that I would be calling pete before sending you money you said they were no longer for sale. You're a class act and everyone is WELL aware of it. Make all the axcuses you like Dan. They do nothing for your already tarnished reputation. Good luck with everything, you'll need it. I even stated that the specimens may well in fact be legitimate, but that does not change the fact that you are and have acted as a grade "a" scumbag and cannot be trusted. Bottom line. Your behavior and actions speak for themselves and unfortunately you make the specimens you sell look bad....... hows that for irony. Have a good holiday, good luck and take care! I couldn't say I was scammed by Dan. He did give me a partial refund for the horrible shipping conditions I received my snakes in (Pampers box - no heat packs - no insulation). He also had no idea what he was selling. He had purchased the animals from someone else to resell (which I think he should have told me - I think he was a bit misleading). Instead of my pair of ruby eyed ghost corns, I received a common ghost and a ruby eyed ghost (I had purchased also a pair of snows - which were the correct sex - and a female charcoal). I'm afraid to find out what sex these animals are when they get larger (they are very small - couldn't be more then 3 months old now). I was unhappy with the situation - but I did receive a refund. I will not be purchasing from him again.

I don't normally reply to most threads but I felt that I needed to add my 2 cents on this subject. I never personally dealt with either of the two parties but what Chris is implying that dhserps did is not at all surprising to me or it shouldn't be to anyone who as read all the negative feedback about Daniel, so I automatically believe Chris over Daniel. I do know for sure that the instance with Hank and the Albino Boas that Daniel is a total liar. I've known Hank for nearly 15 years now on a personal as well as business relationship and he's never acted in that manner. In fact I was at lunch with him on the Sat he called Daniel to confirm the shipment of the Boas. Hank called me on Tuesday immediately after Daniel gave him the fake story of his partner supposedly selling the snakes without his knowledge and shipping them out so that wasn't some story Hank made up over the course of a few weeks it was the TRUTH. Daniel got a better deal after Hank Pay Paled his money and Daniel screwed him, even though Hank got his money back it doesn't make what he did right. I guess Hank's lucky he got the money back after reading some of the many threads against Daniel. I' am not gonna go into every detail about that instance but it seems funny that Daniel always has some kind of an excuse when people post bad reports about him. It makes you think about the type of character he his. Daniel seems to act like he's a great guy and everyone else is the bad guy and out to get him. Nobody's out to get you, were just out to let everyone know the your type of business practice as well the different scams you pull with people so it doesn't happen to them. All the negative feedback about Daniel is Daniel's doing, nobody else's. Maybe if you practiced better business dealings with people you would get better feedback.
I myself wouldn't buy a thing from Daniel and would advise anyone else from doing business from him because he's a scam artist and is very unprofessional. Like you said Chris, its pretty ironic that once you said you would do research if they were from PK he decided not to sell. Sure that's the reason Daniel. Be patient he'll have them back up for sale in a month or two ready to scam the next unwary victim.
