    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So here's the deal...I've got two dachshunds, one male and one female, as well as a male lab mix. Arwen, the female doxie is due to go into heat anytime now, and all three of the dogs are acting PSYCHOTIC!!!! Arwen won't let either of the males anywhere near her (or anything that belongs to her), and Gandolf and Max are fighting like crazy.

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping my sanity during these trying times? :nuts:

1)You could take her to the vet and have her spayed. Or
2)You could temporarily separate them out, I have large wire cages for my dogs

It is good to make plans now, as when she does come into heat the neighbor dogs may visit as well.
It sounds like you have your hands full!!

There is nothing that will relieve Arwen's PMS, lol...believe me, I've tried....but I've found that if the males are reacting to her scent, you can dab around their noses with a tissue with a touch of Vick's Vapor Rub on it. It doesn't take much at all...and although they will still be subjected to her crabbiness, they do not smell her, and they will chill out a little bit. When I was showing, I ALWAYS kept a can of Vicks in my grooming kit, because you can imagine what it was like when you find out there is a bitch in heat in the ring anytime close to when you are showing.

That, or you can just start drinking margaritas. LOL. ;)

I do believe

that my days as "Margarita Mama" are officially over...unfortunately. I'll have to try the Vick's, though. I would like to have one more litter out of Arwen before we have her spayed so that we can actually keep one of her puppies this time. But, after dealing with this psychotic issue with all three of the dogs when she goes into heat...I can assure you that she'll be spayed immediately after having the next litter! Part of what drives us so crazy is that when Arwen is close to being in heat, Gandolf (the male weenie) runs around peeing on everything...including our sofa. Suffice it to say, he won't be far behind her getting neutered!

Tere, get you one of those wire cages or you'll be cleaning pee for DAYS :ack2:
