    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

For those of you that saw the thread. My female leo laid her first clutch not too long ago and they went bad. Well her mate just died last month from impaction. Well, just a week after he died I saw the eggs developing in her belly. Today I went to check for eggs and found 2 perfectly good eggs, just laid less than 2 hours after I found them. I got them cooking now. His bloodline may still be passed on. Wish me luck!!

Someone please correct me if I am wrong but isn't 80 a bit on the low side for incubating Leo eggs because the night time temps can drop even lower?
I seem to remember reading that incubating at such low temps can increase the possibility of deformities and even cause the embryos to die
If I am wrong on this I apologize-I don't mean to cause any needless worry

I believe the risk for deformities is higher yes. I am just hoping to get some high black babies to breed with my patternelss in the next couple years.
 
Thanks. I am getting some new roaches next week hopefully so getting more geckos should be easier and cheaper as far as feeding goes. I'm hoping to get these eggs hatched and breed to either one of the paternless or get anoyther gecko. Not sure yet
 
Sorry to hear about your Gecko dying. But, glad to hear he "Legacy" will live on. Hopefully she will retain his sperm and give you more good eggs :)
 
I'd hope she will. When should I be able to see more eggs in her belly if she retained it? I bumped the temps up. They are right between 82-83 so hopefully they will be ok. next clutch will be incubated for males.
 
My first female to lay this season (or ever) has been like this...

- eggs 4/19
- eggs 4/30
- eggs 5/14

So I'd guess about two weeks if she's like mine.
 
Thanks. I'm hoping she has retained some sperm for 1 more clutch. I won't have a male that I am raising ready for a year or so. I am getting some blata latteralis roaches next week so I will have more food to ghet more geckos!!!
