In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Wow, those are beautiful!!! The good thing is they will be very hard to hide. First thing to do is check to see if any of your local pet stores have had inquiries about tortoise care or what to feed them. Watch all the local shows and internet sites for someone trying to sell them. There are lots of members here that are for staten island and can help keep an eye out for them.

Would someone have been able to see them win your yard passing by or would they had to of known they you had them??

I will be doing the Hamberg show in P.A. August ,and I will be at the L.I. herp show in Oct. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Those are some really beautiful looking tortoises, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. I can't believe people do things like that, if I was to loose an animal it'd be like losing a child. It's horrible that people can do that... I'll keep an eye out on sites and everything, and I wish you luck in finding them. -Art-

i will be at the white plains show this weekend and also making my rounds to all the pet stores. I will ask everywhere i go!!!

Drive around etc. things that that need room you maybe get to glance soem int eh perps yard. Also have your kids check or if you don't have kids make soem contatcst and have them look. I'm sure time is on yoru side if it is local area scum who did this.

Loose lips sink ships and all. I would enroll any future torts in self defense courses, if turtles can do it imagine Adolescent Mutant Sumo Torts.

Seriously though, good luck.

At this time we have never heard anything about our tortises. I figured If it was kids I would have heard something before the winter and they had to be brought into the house.I hope whomever took them all the bad karma they deserve....I believe what goes around comes around and they will get theres.

Its just such a horrible horrible thing
I just hope the turtles got a good home
where ever they went in the end

and the people who took them
I hope they do get everything they deserve

I use to live in ny and i know some "bad people" in "BAD places". I have sent the pictures out to my friends if they find them i will contact u. Dont worry about karma, its coming. Check pet shops, if they took em in ny there most likely been sold in rhode island. I am truly sorry for your lose and pray for a quick return. :NoNo: :reddevil: :shootfoot
