In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey all, I have an empty 55 gallon aquarium that I was thinking of converting into a planted tank. I thought it would be cool to put some kind of reptile in there as well, but I'm not sure what would be best suited. I figured I would mention it here, since it's fun to think about.

Mostly I have two major points: 1. I want it to fit comfortably in the tank for its full lifetime AND 2. I want it to not take my fingers off during regular maintenance.

It would be cool if whatever species could breed too, but that's not all that high on the list.

Thanks for reading!

I'm going to recommend you to check out dendroboard. They have e a lot of great vivarium builds and darts frogs are super cute, breed, a d won't take any fingers ;)

I thought about that, but I'm kinda concerned about feeding. Breeding fruit flies sounds like a lot of trouble. Plus the family won't be amused by bugs flying everywhere.

Cresties are cute but I am a little anxious about buying one after my first baby died shortly after purchase.

How about some beautiful day geckos ? You'd have to be sure you have a secure screen top to prevent escapes and you have to check near the top of the tank + screen to be sure they are not hanging out there when you open it.
