AUBREY'S REPTILES

Well my wife got me yesterday with a surprise 30 th Birthday Party. Alot of relatives that attended haven't seen our breeding room before now and so I had to show everyone what we have been up to these last 3 years. When my wifes grandparents arrived to help "set me up" for the big night, I had a egg pipping so I thought I would show them what one goes through during the hatching process. Well needless to say the little stinker didn't feel secure enough to come out the rest of the way so I let him be and we headed out (to what I thought was dinner with friends) leaving our 3 year old son with his grandparents. After arriving at the resturant we get this phone call saying the dog is "vomiting blood" and that we need to come back home to remedy the problem ( I believed this only because our dog does suffer from irritable bowl syndrome). After arriving back home and having 20 people remind me that I am not in my 20's anymore
I proceded to head to the basement where I started showing people our collection. By this time our little hatchling was out of her egg and we got the " oh she is so tiny", "aww cute" ,and " can I hold her" ( mind you this is from the few relatives that I had to coax down there to begin with).
Now to the busy part. As I procede to show people our breeders, I open our giant breeding group tub just in time to witness a female having just laid her eggs and in the process of burying them ( now we have pushing and shoving to get the best view
again from the same people who can't stand the sight of anything reptile). Well I procede to place the eggs into our incubator and as I open the door I see another egg has just pipped and since our incubator has a glass front, everyone crowds to get a glimpse of it hatching. While this is going on I decide I might as well check all of our breeders as I was expecting more eggs soon anyhow. Well after an hour of "show & tell" we had six more eggs cooking and a total of 3 more hatchlings in the rack ( one decided to "surprise" me that morning). By this time my wife had to remind me that we still had cake to eat and that I needed to spend some time with my "other family" LOL..
All in all I couldn't have asked for a better timed B-day party. I got to witness more in one night than I had seen in the last 3 years and I got to share the experience with family and friends that left that night with a whole new look at our "cold-blooded family".
