    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ah crimeny!

It's been a very long time since I've posted on here. I have a 4 yr old female normal bp that is a sweetheart. I haven't had her for a little over 2 yrs because my husband is in the military and they don't allow exotic reptiles to reside on base, so some friends were taking care of her for me. I have recently moved back and was able to take possession of her again towards the end of Oct this year. She is eating well on rats and is healthy. I also just purchased a yellow belly boy. I was not planning to breed so please don't start yelling at me. My husband accidentally put them together Sunday afternoon. He's not a snake person, and the boys humidity was low so he put them together. I was under the weather and had headed into town to get me some meds when he did this. I didn't know he had put them together till Tuesday night when I went to check on them and found them locked. I didn't mess with them till the next day when they were seperated. I put him back in his cage and then weighed both. He was at 492g he's a yearling, and she's only at 795g. Is there a possibility of eggs? I need to research how to take care of them if there is. I didn't research breeding when I got him. I just did the care part because I never planned to breed. Yes I did ask him why he put my male in with my female and he said it was the best way to keep him healthy till I got his setting done right lol. Ok so please give me some advice.

At this point, plan for eggs. At that weight she'll probably only lay one or two, and they may be infertile anyway.

At this stage it's 50/50 that she'll lay eggs. Most of my snakes don't "take" until later in the year. If she starts to glow on you (change color and become really light) then she'll lay eggs. If not, you may be okay. It may take a couple of months for you to know for sure though.

I have had females lock before and then not lay eggs, but you may as well plan for an egg or two just in case. Be sure to provide that female with as much food as you can get her to eat in the meantime.

That's one thing I plan to do. I thought she weighed a whole lot more but nope. I'm feeding once a week right now. Should I go every 4 to 5 days?

It depends on whether you want to increase the likelihood of her becoming gravid...I won't say it is impossible, but it is not likely that she will become gravid after one pairing at her size. A rapid growth spurt bringing her to low breeding weight would increase the chances.

I got her fed just now and she took it with out even thinking twice. This is day 5 since I last fed her the same size rat. I don't know if she locked with him before I knew they were together or not. All I know of is the tuesday to Wednesday lock. She is a 4 yr old mature female. I've read where others have had success but I didn't want this. If I ever planned to breed it would have been in like 5 to 10 yrs. Whats done is done now I need to think of her health before anything else. I talked to a guy here thats an lps owner and breeder. He said he would help me as much as he can. He also said he will start getting incubation stuff together for me. So if there are eggs then I will have the stuff for them. I am doing the research and learning from that. He also said he will take the babies.
