    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have two new adult bearded dragons and had a couple of basic questions. I've found lots of information on baby dragons, but not so much on adults.

1) About how many crickets do adults eat in one feeding?

2) How many worms (superworms) do they eat in one feeding?

3) Is it possible to overfeed a dragon or do I just give them as much as they want? I'm assuming I free-feed their salad - is this correct?

4) These two dragons look kind of skinny to me compared to other adult dragons I have seen. Should I be doing something to fatten them up?

Thanks for any help!

I put in as many as they will eat. If they eat them all in a couple min I add a few more. Once they start ignoring them you've given them enough. Just let the straglers run around so they can eat them as snacks later on.

I feed supers as snack about 2-3 times a week. I just a dozen or so to the salad every morning.

My guys pretty much stop when they are full. And yes, free feeding the salad is the right thing to do.

You can try giving them wax worms every few days as a snack or even give them a pinkie every couple weeks or so. Both are high in fat and will help beef them up a little.

Thanks for the answer.

Each of the two dragons tonight ate between 75 and 100 med/large crickets. Is this normal for an adult dragon? I don't mind at all to feed them all they want to eat, but need to rethink my purchasing if this is normal for them. At 10 cents/cricket locally, I'd likely be better off mail ordering if they always eat like this!

They are eating machines ain't they??? :hehe:

Ordering boxes of 1,000 is usually always a better deal when you are feeding out 100+ crix a day. I know it saves me a fortune.
