    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Just thought I'd give it a try, lol...

I'm not a huge fan of snakes, but I am a little obsessed with turtles and tortoises.

I'll be 24 in June, and I graduate college in May. I don't know what I want to do afterwards so I'm gonna stay at the daycare for a bit. I work with one-year-olds and they're the CUTEST things!

I LOVE art, so I'm thinking of somehow pursuing that a bit more in the future as well.

Anyway I just thought I'd see what kind of guys are out there on this forum... especially from the MA area.

Looking for a BF, not BS...

Of course there are no men in MA, look who they offer in the public spotlight - Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. LOL. To find a real man you have to go South. The South is always risen!

I would say there are NO men in Massachusetts

Or possibly just none of them willing to touch that kind of post with a ten foot pole... "Looking for a bf, not bs" is not the sort of pressure a guy wants when meeting a woman for the first time.

Of course there are no men in MA, look who they offer in the public spotlight - Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.

Both of whom we shipped out of state...

To find a real man you have to go South.

Oh yeah, nothing more impressive than a real southern man with auto parts covering his front law, a family tree that doesn't fork, more fingers than teeth and fewer than ten of both who regularly uses phrases like "Y'all" when speaking.

The South is always risen!

Here I thought the phrase was "The South will rise again"

... because they couldn't keep it up the first time.:D

Awww, I was only joking around Lucille. I can't let someone get away with trying to pass off all Massholes as Kerry/Kennedy clones and my post was intended in the same kind of mildly mocking tone as several previous ones.

Its all good Seamus and without re-fighting the War of Southern Independence (we had y'all whipped until y'all brought in your foreign help) I am glad to see those two individuals are not thought of highly by all Mass. residents.

Kevin

OK Lucille, I agree. We all know there is nothing controversial about sex and dating and will even delete my previous two posts if y'all think they are inappropriate.

Oh goodness!! Number 5 is bad!! LOLOLOLOL!

Maybe we should make a poll to see if Civil War talk should be added to the list of NO-NO subjects on a first date. ;)

Yes...but...Baggage is so important. LOL!! Our past experiences make up part of who we are today. So, learning about one's "baggage" helps greatly in learning about the person you are dealing with. It helps you see where the other person is coming from, where the other person is going and how someone behaves along the way. Therefore, I don't mind talking or listening when it comes to ex's, as long as it's done in a tactful way and it doesn't become excessive.

Ah...I'm with you now. ;) I guess I wasn't thinking in "first date" mode because I almost always talk to prospective dates for quite a while on the phone, online, etc., before the "first date" even happens.

Took a little "hiatus" from the sites I'm a member on, but I'm glad to see my post is getting at least SOME sort of traffic...

I have nothing to offer anyone but myself. The no BS thing is merely my way of saying I'm not up for head games. A BF would be nice although I am just dating right now. That is what was meant by my original post.

Thanks for viewing...

Jennifer,

Sorry for the traffic jam we caused, especially me, on your thread, but, hey, it kept it toward the top. Good luck on your search.
