    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My goldie laid an egg-on paper towel-under her coco hut.

I'm not even sure if it's fertile, since I'm not sure of the gender of the other goldie.

I know they're egg gluers. If I tear the paper towel apart, can I put that egg into my SIM??

I don't see why that wouldn't work for ya, but maybe give Squamata Concepts a call.
I am not to familiar with golden geckos so I really can't offer you any more advice than that. Sorry.
 
I'd say tearing off the PT and putting in the SIM should work out fine. Goldens are pretty easy, I kept a pair and they popped out eggs regularly every other month or so. Incubation is best at low to mid 80s(I always did 84 and that worked out well) with decent humidity. Perlite works well as a medium. I'd check the cage fairly regularly, they usually lay pairs of eggs so you may find another. Sexing is pretty easy as well, males have prominent pre-anal pores and usually noticable bulges. Eggs hatch in 60-85 days usually at 84F. Hatchlings can be kept indentically as adults, just in a "mini" setup. Feed pin head crickets or roach nymphs with some CGD or fruit baby food. Another good trick is to keep a small piece of PVC pipe(2" diameter) in the cage, females will often glue eggs in this and the entire thing can go in the bator. A cork tube will work as well. Females will occassionally lay infertiles w/o a male around, so if you dont have a male you can still get eggs, but males are easy to find, females, for some reason, are a bit rarer. Good luck.

I'm using Repashy SuperHatch in the SIM.

As for sexing them, they run when I open the tank and try to escape. Since there's an egg, I know I have at least one female. For all I know, I might have two, and the egg we found could be a virgin egg. My cresties have done the same thing, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

As a wise old herp keeper once told me regarding eggs-

"When in doubt, DON'T throw it out!"

If it hatches, GREAT!!!

If not, I'll just keep checking for more eggs and eventually get both geckos on the scanner bed to sex them.
