    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone having problems today (Sunday, 01/18)?

The screens all seem to be very slow displaying for me. Everything seems OK on my other sites on the server, but this one just seems to be taking a long time to display the forums on my screen.

Maybe it's just my ISP (Comcast), but I want to check to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

a little slow ...

But nothing aggrivating to deal with a refresh takes about 3 secs and to load a new page about 5 secs ...

Whatever the problem was, it seemed to just go away. I think my ISP was caching the entire page until all of the graphics loaded in before sending it to me. Hope they aren't planning on doing it that way permanently.

Yeah, this is just a very graphics intensive site. Not only from the banner ads, but also from the topsites links as well. They all have a bearing on page loading speed. Although vBulletin can gzip the pages, I don't believe it has any effect on anything that comes from outside of the vBulletin program itself.

I'll have to check to see if there is a way to enable gzip on everything coming from my server, but something tells me that there will be some sort of nasty tradeoff that I will have to contend with. Nothing good is ever for free.
