    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is probably the best picture I took at Tinley. Owned by the Wildlife Discovery Center in Lake Forest, IL.

Wow. Living in Ca. I've seen a fair number of Northerns andtheri variety is well known but THAT is one damn fine looking animal.

Do you know anything about it's origins? Do you have any other pics? It's a true beaury.

Hmmm, I've been thinking a bit and isn't Axanthic the lack of yellow?

Wouldn't that more properly be a hyperxanthic, extra yellow, or maybe even some oddball anerythristic since there seems to be no red or orange?

It's a beauty either way.

Now that I look at it better it does not look like a Norther pacific at all... It looks more like a xanthic Crotalus durissus...

Well, blame my faulty memory and the fact that I should have double checked the name before I posted. :bandhead0 It is a Northwestern Neotropical Rattlesnake. I can post the photo of the info sheet they gave. However, I don't think I can change the thread title. It's described as the 'xanthic' phase on the infosheet given by the Discovery Center.

Xanthic is hi yellow, axanthic is no yellow.

The stripe on the neck did make me wonder but I figured it was just an oddball.

Still cool.

It is a Xanthic Crotalus simus cuminatus.

Also a northern neo tropical rattlesnake. These guys were floating around for a while a few years ago. A real cool snake but super hot. Much different venom than our North American crotalus
