In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok not gecko babies but mice babies.

For all of you mic ebreeders out there, do female mice bleed out of their, well, rear end :crap: when theyre about to have their babies? I have a really pregnant female and there was blood coming out of there. Im not sure if shes in heat or not, or period or whatever, im not a girl so i dont really know all of that stuff :hehe: .

I had a nother mouse have babies, but that was overnight and i didnt catch her having them.

I moved my 2 females into another tank, new water, bedding, and food. I may let these pinkies live so i can use them as breeders and maybe feeders for my garter snake.

So am i doing every thing right and am i right about the heat/period/early labor thing? Sorry if this sounds kind of confusing, Paul

Why did you move the females from your colony? You can pretty much scratch that colony and start over. Mice are very social creatures, and once you have an established colony, you don't want to add/remove mice. The ones left in the colony will more then likely kill any reintroduced individuals. It's also a good way to have mothers cannibalise their young.

The best way to add mice to a colony is to allow female babies to grow up with the colony. A generation or two of inbreeding won't hurt your colony (if you're concerned about breeding daughters back to there father).

I read online that the males should be removed while the female is giving birth. Ill keep in mind not to move the male again.

I meant that i moved the male out.

LOL i realized mice were like wolves, i had one kill another one when they lived together for about 2 months.

What you read online is probably from pet/show mice breeders, whom do not breed their mice often and never keep groups of mice together at all. When breeding for feeders, colonies are the best way to go. Good luck restarting. :)

LOL you hit the nail right on the head. Once i get rid of the extra male and this girl has her babies, ill try it again. This colony has already been pretty messed up. Been 3 and a half months and i have gotten no babies out of them as of yet :hot:

Well i thought she would have babies much earlier, and didn't think she would balloon up as much as she did. My first female didn't balloon up nearly as much because she only had 4 babies, this female had 13! Thanks for all of the help guys, i can fit 1.3 mice on shredded paper, a wheel, a tube, a hide and a water thing right?

YIKES !!
13 babies???
WOW
Is that unusual for mice?
seems like an awful large litter
Sandy

I just counted, its more like 10. Its hard to count because i dont want her to canabalize, but ill get some pics in a week.
