    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I hatched out a baby about 2 months ago. He's been doing fine and eating and everything. Well tonight I went to refill his food dish and noticed that his back legs didnt seem to be working right. He can move them but it looks like they aren't bending the way they should or something. He seems to be having trouble walking straight, the best way I know to describe it is he walks like a snake slithers, kind of side to side. He has calcium w/D3 in his cage at all times so I know its not that, it isnt impaction as he is kept on paper towels. There is nothing that could have fallen on him and the highest point he could have fallen from is 4.5 inches off the top of his deli cup hide. I am just at a loss as to what could have caused it, or what to do about it.

Weird bro. Could it be a vitamin OD? It could also be genetic or due to fluctuating incubation temps.... Just throwing some ideas out there....

What brand of calcium do you use? It almost sounds like MBD. But that is just a guess it is really hard to know what it is without seeing the gecko.

Sounds like classic mbd, but a photo would be helpful. Whyat brand of calcium are you using and what brand of vitamins? Are you dusting the mealworms?

I use Repcal w/D3 and I have it in a gatorade lid in the tub and dust the mealworms every other feeding. I cant think of the brand name of the multi-vitamin I use because Im not at my house at the moment but I dust the mealworms with the multi-vitamin once a week. I will try to get a picture of him tonight, but nothing looks wrong when he stands still its only when he walks. Also, even if I wasnt giving him any calcium or vitamins (which I am) would MBD set in after only 2 months? He's a great eater and always cleans out his dish of mealworms. And I dont belive it's genetic because I have babies from the same parents and the rest of them are doing fine and haven't shown any signs of trouble like this one has.

To answer your question, yes, if a young gecko does not get calcium w/D3 for 2 months MBD will certainly occur. Sounds like it's time for a vet visit for your little guy.
