    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Ok.... just when I resolve to myself that Frigga and Odin are pattys..... from discussion over the pics I posted on this board and other....I go to Kellis page at hisss.net and see this beauty on her morph guide.....

Now lookit this! My girl Frigga....

(property hisss.net)

Now....I'm not too sure AGAIN.... they look seperated at birth!

BUT on further research I have found a few pics of some pattys that look alot like both her and the male I got from the same parents....

So you see its not as cut and dried as it seems... even Kelli at hisss.net couldn't verify them visually, the only way we will know for certain is when they have hatchlings... there are eggs in the 'bator now....

Just thought it was interesting how similar these two morphs can be....

the head on mine has the same markings Scott.... just don't show up well in that pic...
Here's a larger version..... you can see the pattern there....

cutie1.jpg

I'll see if I can get a good shot of her headtonight as well....not saying she is or isn't a patternless, just wanted to be clear that there is a pattern on her head..... ;)

must be either my monitor or the picture, I am not sure

Either way that is one great looking leo!

she's a beaut no doubt either way thanks...lol.... I'm not overly concerned if they turn out to be pattys.... she and the male are identical and absolute dolls....

Yeah.... it could be the pic...PROLLY is the pic....

Jeremy.... what is the basis exactly? Like I said, I was convinced she was a patty, but after seeing that pic on Kelli's site I was swayed again... in the flesh she is IDENTICAL to that one... right down to the pattern on the head , only difference is mine dosn't have that much orange on the base of the tail.

On that point, it was one of the things that people pointed at when I first posted her as a clue she was patternless, was the bit of orange on her tail, but then I see Kellis and there's A LOT of orange on the tail...

lol.... paint me confused....

As I said though, it will be confirmed soon enough... one cluth in the incubator now !

Cory, I believe that the picture of Kelli's that you posted is a TRUE banana blizzard. A gecko homogenus for patternless and blizzard. So it has patternless genes as well as blizzard genes, both of which can be visibly seen. Therefore you can see a resemblance to your patternless gecko.

Thanks Jeremy!

I'll be sure to post pics in a couple of months as the wee ones hatch out...lol....

Like I said, I was resolved that she was a patty.... this was just an effort to get a confirmation on that...

Thanks again for the explanation...

OK what I see is Kelli's pic is a yellow pattern overlayed on a lavenderish body, on yours I see the yellow pattern overlayed onto no body color.

Its a good comparison to show what a bananna blizzard and a patternless look like and even though the yellow part of the pattern may be the same they have a different under body color.

Interesting observation Wendy thanks.... its been an interesting exercise for me.

I obtained both of these guys from a local herp shop, they were sold as blizzards and I really had no reason to doubt what they were until they got a little older and the yellow started to come out in them. When I got them as younguns they were almost completly white....

Its been an eyeopener the last little while as I posted pics and got different opinions on what exactly they were....

I'm happy either way.... I do have a confirmed blizzard female that will work with my plans, and which ever way these two prove out I will work them into my plans, cause frankly, they are BOTH beauties!!! lol...

Do you still hae the pics from when they were babies, I think I remember the thread but Im not sure.

Ohhh..I never knew the bannana blizzard was a blizzard/patty! I always thought that it was just a yellow blizzard...lol.

Wendy.... here is a pic of Frigga when I first got her, she was about 3 months old here. Sorry for the crappy pic....

friga1.jpg

and another about a month or two after we got her....

friggahand.jpg

I was going to take a fresh pic of her tonight but she is currently in the middle of a shed...I'll check back before I go to bed and see if she is finished....

The male I don't have a pic of as a young one as he hung out at the herp store for a couple of month before we decided to bring him home....

I agree that this is a toughy! And, on the same note... it's a trophy!

My instincts say Patternless but the young pic certainly makes for an arguement of Blizzard!

Yeah Gene.... as I am said, not overly concerned either way as they are BOTH beauts... I do have a confirmed blizzard anyway, and while my plans were a bell/blizzard project, which I can still do with my confirmed blizz, a bell/patty project can be equally intriguing....

Very true, she looks like the other patty babies Ive seen at the age those pics were taken. Im fascinated by pattys so Im looking at them constantly lol

Either way they are both nice looking leos.
