In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BCI or CA?

Bought this boa about 8 months ago. When purchased, I was under the impression that she was a BCI "low expression" Motley. Though I am sure she is a motley, I am not sure she is a BCI. I don't know much about CA mutations, but I think she is a CA Motley. I have never seen a BCI Motley with side diamonds. Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you, Lee

Doesn't look motley to me. Could be a normal from a motley litter though. Sort of looks anery to me.

While C.A. Motleys do look different from Colombian Motleys they do have their own look. All motleys have well defined "rails" running down their backs. In Colombians the "rails" connect the saddles, in C.A.s there may not be saddles to connect, so the "rails" appear as reverse striping.

C.A. motley's may or may not have connected medallions.

Central American motleys are still BCI...
Can you post a belly shot of that snake?

Here are more pics

Sorry about the quality. She is also starting her shed cycle. In the first pic you can see she loses side pattern by the tail. You can see in the 2nd pic that come of the medallions connect. Thank you, Lee

I don't know about C.A. motley bellies, but Colombian motleys have a clean white patternless belly.

Also, normal C.A.s can have connected medallions. Like these guys:

I still think it's s normal. I'm not seeing enough motley traits. But you could prove me wrong if/when you breed it.

Here's a question for those that know more than me...were the original imported motleys Bci or Bcc? I haven't been able to find that info out.

Some "low grade" CA Motleys do have side medallions. However, whether they be CA or Colombian, the white bellies are what gives them away.

Lee, what you have there is not a Motley...not Colombian, nor Central American. It is a good looking Boa though :).

Amie, the first Colombian motley was imported in the mid 90's. Then Jeremy Stone got his hands on that project in the late 90's and is responsible for introducing them into the market.

Alex Barreiro holds claim to the CA Motleys. In the late 90's (or early 2000) Alex acquired this morph from someone in Germany (I believe).

Although Alex first produced a litter in 2001...Jeremy produced his first litter a year before that. So...the Colombian Motley was proven to be genetic prior to the CA's.

I purchase her from a well known seller. Someone you all probably know of and/or purchased from. That also means he ripped me off by telling me this IS a motley and charging me a motley price. Please be sure that she is in fact not a motley before I go to the BOI. This was written by the seller after I questioned her being a motley "If you are buying your motley for "eye candy" you don't want her!! LOL. But she IS a MOTLEY!!"

Thank you, Lee

I meant to ask, were the Colombian motley's Bcc or Bci? There were three that were imported around the same time as Jeremy's "Norman."

I know that the C.A. that Alex had were Bci, imported by Gaz in the UK. They are supposed to be Nicaraguan but Alex never made that claim.

Yes, Alex's Motleys are Nicaraguan...Jeremy's are Colombian (BCI).

I believe (don't quote me on this though) that Alex first bred his CA Motley to a Colombian (I think it was a Pastel). His first litter were not pure bloods. Perhaps that's where some confusion about the Motleys, stems from. :shrug01:

Just for fun :D...the following is a pure blood CA Motley which I purchased from Alex...

These next two pictures are of a Colombian Motley, which I also purchased from Alex...

In this next photo, you'll see a face profile on her neck :D. When I first noticed that, I called the Vatican :hehe:. However they determined that it was Jay Leno...not the Virgin Mary. :shrug01:

Thank you Nick,

And I have to correct myself when I said three Colombian motleys were imported around the same time as Norman, there were only two. Norman was one and the other was a female that died before she was bred....I was thinking that the Roylance Mots were imports...momentary brain skip on my part.

Great pictures, and I do agree...that profile does look a bit like Leno. LOL!!!
