    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Had another bear passing through the property yesterday morning. This one looks rather large. Surprisingly, haven't seen any damages, as normally the bird feeders get wrecked when a bear comes by.

Didn't seem to be in any hurry to head on out the driveway.

Does look like a big boy. I remember coming home from school one day in 1972 in Orlando. Orlando then was still a lot of citrus groves and wetland and scrub land. I was taking a short cut through the woods when this enormous bear and I made contact around a curve. We both froze then it grunted and almost back flipped to run the other way. Cool and scary at same time. Same day I seen the biggest ever whip coach. It was close to 7 feet long. Biggest I had seen before was probably 4 to 5 feet. Thanks for posting.
 
Actually, what prompted me to even check the cameras was that when Connie and I were walking up the driveway, we spotted some gouge marks in the dirt made by something apparently taking off in a hurry. Something pretty big.

Interestingly enough, I had set up some "bunny blasters" to protect my newly sprouted watermelon plants from the predations of rabbits and deer (actually foxes too, because last year I had them digging into the mounds for some reason), and right where those gouge marks are located is exactly where something walking in that direction would have triggered one of those blasters. Unfortunately the video timed out before it could catch the bear being startled by the water blast and taking off. Darn it.
 
I think if I lived in an area where there were bears, I would carry some kind of a gun with me when I went outside the house. It would really be scary if you came up on a momma bear with her cubs. Be careful.

Heck, I always have a gun on me when Connie and I walk around the property. No telling what sort of wildlife, or even people trespassing, we might run into. I'm not really keen on becoming a victim under any circumstances.

I have even had dogs running through the property that would growl at me. I like dogs, but I certainly am not going to become a chew toy for one or more of them.
 
Love the videos, but I think I'm happy with the biggest predator here being just fox and yeah, stray (dumped?) dogs that are definitely scarier than the fox.

Do you have Sun Bears near your area?

The sun bear is known to be exceptionally aggressive and will attack without cause. Having such large canines, extremely strong jaws and long claws, it is said to be one of the most dangerous animals to encounter in the jungle.
