Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We bought a new dragon who's about 10 inches long and put her in a 29 gallon tank. She immediately started to lick and then try to bite her basking platform, food dish and rock repeatedly. She is under a powersun 100 watt that's clamped 20 inches above her so her basking spot is at 101F and her opposite end is 84F. Why is she biting everything? We try to make her stop, but she keeps on doing it. Please tell me how to make her understand that these items aren't edible!?!?
 
There is a training aid on the market called Bitter Apple. Maybe if you spray down the areas that the dragons bites it will get that awful taste in it's mouth and stop. I've never had a dragon bite inanimate objects before, unless it was Meanie in one of his moods.

Hope you can find away to cure the problem................. Is it really a problem though? I can't see how her tasting all that stuff could really hurt anything. :shrug01:
 
We are worried about her losing teeth from biting and twisting on the pieces so much. You can slightly hear the grinding when she bites them . . . ! Hopefully she will soon understand that they can't be eaten. She hasn't done it as much today as she did yesterday so maybe she is getting the idea afterall.
 
Wow, she really must like to chew pretty hard on things. I wish you and her luck in getting her to stop.

Maybe she's teething??? :rofl:
 
what did you clean the cage out with or is it new? and did you use the rock/food dish in any other way? i had a rock that i used when i had fish and then i put it in the bd's tank and she licked it and bit it. just wash everything out real good and let them dry.
