    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've seen some leos has weird black splotches on their bodies.
Has anyone tried to breed these black splotches leos?
If anyone knows, Are these genetics or just random mutation? :spinner03

I have a male blizzard that has two black spots on its body and face, and a Normal female that have one huge black spot in the middle of her back.

here they're: :D

Yeah, they just pop up now and then. I've noticed no heritability thru several generations from parents with those. Orange ones happen also but seem to be a different phenomenon, the edges are more smooth.

i had one that i gave to a friend that had a orange spot on the elbow that eventually filled in with black and the spot on her back started to bleed outward. i still have access to her so i can take i picture next time i'm over. i bet i actually have some younger pictures of her... i'll look. she reminds me a little of the top gecko (the high yellow), but shes a hypo.

here she is but this picture was taken before the orange filled in with black. next time i go over to my friends house i will try to get a current picture of her. the spot on her back bled out and is much larger now, a lot like the first picture you posted.

I have two geckos that have the orange spots it is kind of odd. one is on a female that was hatched about 2 years ago. the other from last year. the spot is on the left side of the head/neck area it must be from my male since the these two did not come from the same Female.
later this year I plan to breed the one back to that male.

I know that Kelli Hammack of HISS got the black spotted blizzards to breed true. I'm not sure if she ever figured out the genetics of it. I believe she was calling them dalmatian blizzards. I don't know if any of the random black spotting on other morphs has proven hereditary. I hatched out a spotted patternless a few years ago, but haven't gotten around to breeding him. If you're interested in starting a project, it would probably be a good idea to try contacting Kelli about the dalmatian blizzards and how that trait seemed to be inherited.
