In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ive heard if i bred my male blizzard and my female tremper albino somehow i can get blazzings. but can u explain how to get them because i dont think thats right.

my first pos! :hurray:

Well

Well My wife is the Gecko expert, but I have learned alot from her, From what I have heard is...That Both the Blizzard(Luecistic) and Albino are both Recessive traits Meaning that when bred together they will produce normal looking offspring that are Heterozygous(Carring the Genes) for both traits. When those offspring are bred they will produce a certain precentage of offspring that express both Blizzard and Albino traits..hence the Blazin Blizzard, which is an Albino Blizzard. NOW...There might be a chance that your Blizzard is Het Albino, and that your Albino is Het Blizzard and when they are bred together they might produce Blazin Blizzards, cause they both carry the Genes for the other trait...But if you didn't purchase them as hets Who knows...Hope that helps, and didn't confuse you..

k i get it so far just a couple more questions. if i breed the albino and blizzard will they all be normal double hets or will there be blizzards het for albino and albinos het for blizzards. and when i breed the double hets what is the percent of blazings am i going to get?

lol guess no one is home =p and what is the percents of blazings from a blazing breeding with double hets. if any

If you breed the blizzard and the albino you will get normal double hets.

If you breed a blazing to a double het , 50% will be blizzards, all will be het blizzard and 1/4 will be het Albino + Blizzard.

I think I got that right.....

Double het. X Double het.
6.25% Normal
6.25% Blizzard
6.25% Albino
6.25% Blazing Blizzard
12.5% het. Blizzard
12.5% het. Albino
12.5% Blizzard het. Albino
12.5% Albino het. Blizzard
25% Double het.

Blazing Blizzard X Double het.
25% Double het.
25% Blizzard het. Albino
25% Albino het. Blizzard
25% Blazing Blizzard

Hope that helps, and Good Luck!

Breeding a DH X DH in theory gives you 1/16 chances, but the way it works out it is more like 1/200. Otherwise there would probably be a TON of bell blazings.

What David said is pretty much correct..... It is a 1 in 16 chance but it does not work out that way in real life as many have already found out long ago.... Your chance of producing a BB are slim but not out of reach....

Are you aware that Tremper blazing lizards go for less than $100 now a days?

u saw babys for 35 because they werent blazing and i dont really care about price cause its not like im doing it for money. and i already found someone willing to buy all the babys. so im going to be buying a bb and breeding it to the double hets once i get them =].

or do u guys think i should get 1 or 2 bells and do bell blazing blizzards? the breeder i bought my blizzard from sells bells to =].

So far, there is only one Bell Blazing that I'm aware of, and that's in the hands of Kelli Hammack. I know there are a lot of people trying to create more with no sucess. It's a very difficult project.

What makes you think they where blazing blizzards? Last year I saw adults for $100 and I think I've seen hatchlings for $50.

Yea, i actually did se baby blazing blizzards for 35 each on KS. Unsexable, but stilll only 35, it may have Prehistoric Pets.

And to think they (Blazing Blizzards) were like 2000 or so when they first hit the scene. I guess that it's pretty much the way it goes with new morphs. If you are willing to be patient and wait or year or two you can pick up what's new and hot today for a song and dance. Before long Mack Super Snows and Raptors will be 200 or less once everyone who is breeding them now hatches them and floods the market with them next spring (if not sooner). Patternless Albinos were super expensive less than 2 years ago and you can get them for less than shipping costs. SHTCT used to be over or at 1000 - 1200 and only average 120 for a decent one now. Most morphs are so cheap now and the market is so flooded that you see more ads on the internet for high end than because the only people that are buying high yellows or normals are parents picking up an inexpensive pet for their kids at pet stores or at shows. Alot of breeders who don't even specialize in Leos were quick to buy at least one pair of the hottest new morph, produced some hatchlings, sold them for what as much as they could, and moved on to the next best thing before the price dropped just to make a few bucks. It's a cycle that is not likely end anytime soon and it's a shame. There are alot of people who take pride in what they breed and keep improving the bloodlines whereas others think they can make a decent living or get rich selling geckos. If people actually stopped and smelled the roses before they bred for every trait imaginable from every bloodline they could afford to buy, they would probably appreciate the actual geckos alot more and maybe then they wouldn't be so obsessed with the financial aspect of the "hobby" or "setting the market price". Instead they wind up with an abundance of 40 dollar lizards that noone needs and that a 10 year old might consider to be "uglier" than a 15 dollar high yellow. I am glad I didn't ever blow a couple of grand on a "hot new morph" 2 years ago because it would only be that much longer before I actually made the money back and I can't imagine it would look any better than the 40 dollar one I can pick up at the next show or on the internet today. Food for thought.
