    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Ok folks, got a question. Has anyone seen or heard of there being a Blizzard(type II anery x albino) that is alive or created? Has anyone ever done it? Are the genes incompatible? Anyways i picked up 1.3 100% dh (type II anery(import) x pk albino) so we will see in a few years. Im starting to doubt that it can be done. I cant dig up anything on these buggers!!! Any help would be great. Thanks

im not a boa guy at all, but i thought i heard and/or read somewhere that the blizzard is a combo gene of type II anery and sharp strain albino

The blizzard is a type II anery X Kahl albino and no live ones have been produced yet. There are a few Dh's floating around as you know ;) So far, it seems that the genes are incompatible...

There are strains of type I and type II anery that have produced anery's proving those individual animals carry a compatible verson....maybe that's the way to produce the blizzard??? :shrug01:

I don't think anyone is trying to produce one using the Sharp strain.

Yea I recently picked up the 1.3 and was thinking of out crossing it to a type I anery.But wouldn't that defeat the purpose of making a true "blizzard"? It wouldn't be a blizzard at that point just a snow with nic influence. Plus the hatchlings would only carry 50% of the type II with them from that litter. I don't know I got a year or two to figure it out as the DH's I have are teeny. Thanks everyone. Keep it coming.

There are type II Sonorans, no one said that a blizzard HAD to be a Nic cross :D

What I was saying by mentioning that there are Type II's that seem to be compatible with Type I's is that it may need to be THAT strain of Type II's that is needed to make the elusive blizzard.

No one's tried to make a blizzard-type critter using Type I Nics yet. I'm not talking about Colombian Type I x Nics, I mean farmed Type I Nics. Who knows what that type of breeding would produce....

Blizzards are Anery (I or II) crossed with either albino strain. I don't know of any Nic's producing, but many Colombians have been. Pro Exotics have produced quite a few. They are rare, but they are out there.

No, "Snows" are made using Type I Colombians. And they are not that rare, the first snow boa was produced back in 1998.

"Blizzards" are different from snows in that they are using the Type II gene.

Sort of like the difference between "Hypo Snow" or "Avalanche" which is made using Sharp albinos, versus the "Moonglow" which uses the Kahl albinos. Yes, technically they are the same thing--a hypo albino anery, but they are not compatible with each other and have different names/labels to designate that.

I believe one blizzard was produced a few years back but died shortly thereafter. I hear what you're saying. A blizzard is different from a snow. Sort of like with Corn Snakes. An anery corn has some yellow in it and will produce a white, yellow or pink snake depending on the lineage. Whereas with a charcoal (Anery II) it doesn't have the reds or yellows like the anery I, so you should get a pure white corn snake. I'm assuming the same applies with the blizzard boa because the anery II's do not have the reds and yellows. I've been waiting patiently to see one produced. I'm sure in the next year or so it will be done.

Yeah, realized what a mistake I'd made after I'd posted. That's what i get for trying to post on an hour's sleep. Thank you for clearing that up. I feel stupid. I knew that, and yet I had one of those "DUH" moments.:crazy03:

as far as I have heard no one has produced a living blizzard.... any that existed were still born... >.>

Did you get those from a guy named Mike??

Yea he seemed like a good guy. Do you think that blizzards will ever pan out? What kinda snakes are you into?

I hope it pans out. I looked into them for a while but couldn't find good things about them. I breed boas.

What kinda boa morphs do you work with? I'm just getting into them I've been into ballmorphs for a while...trying to get myself out of crested geckos so I can focus more on my high end balls my burms and now boas.

Does anyone know who it was that done the anery II X albino pairings.We own 8 anery II sonoran and the first pair in the world to produce them and it might be a pairing I would want to look at in the furture. I wouldn't mind bending a person's ear that's all ready done this pairing.
