    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I have been noticing a blueish tint creeping up the tail from the tip and was wondering if it has happened with anyone else??? Is this normal for hatchlings?? Out of the 7 fattails that we have hatched so far, this one and his clutchmate both have varying degrees of blue present and so far are the only ones to display this..When they hatched all was normal, so this is something that is developing..Attached are some photos of the one male that displays this more dominantly.. Any feedback would be appreciated :)

Cool! You do mean on the two lighter bands near the tip? Nice color on these!

The blue seems to cover the 2 white bands and it also covers the 2 dark bands. Actually the dark bands when combined with the blue color makes them look like a midnight blue..Last night I also remember seeing ,at one time, that one of my breeders had a sliver of blue on her tail ( I did'nt think much of it then). I'll have to check her when I get home tonight and also to see if these hatchlings came from her..

LOL!!! I guess I'd better come up with a catchy morph name.. How about "Arctic Blue Fattail"...... Hey wait a minute, I like the sound of that.. HUMMMMMMMM

Its probably just varicose veins, just like what Tremper thought was blue coloration on the leos.

Well, it's something I'm going to have to keep an eye on. The only differences I see with my situation compared with R.T. is I have this being expressed in a set of clutchmates, not a single animal. Also the mother of the 2 may also be expressing the trait( I'll know tonight). R.T. also say's in his book that his Leo hatched with that spot, mine is slowly developing the blue with every shed ( it hatched with no blue present).....

Well I checked to see who the cluch belonged to and it is from the female that I had seen some traces of blue on... Only right now due to breeding her colors have faded and since it was only a trace of blue it may not show up in a photo :(. Her next clutch is due to hatch in the next 10 days, so I'll have to see what develops with these. I might be chasing nothing here but it will be fun to see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated!!!!!

I decided to include a photo with flash to hopefully make the photo a little clearer/brighter..

Hmmm very interesting, keep us posted i would like to see continued development.

Very Nice Shawn!!! I hope this turns out to be a true blue genetic color for you !!!! It would liven things up in the fat tail market for sure and would be a nice money maker for you as well!!!

Hmm, varicrose veins.Its all too odd that all the sudden cases start appearing in leos and fatties.If its varicrose veins then how come we havent seen it before recently.I know it genetic but its just odd it occoring now and never before.

It doesn't mean that there hasn't been cases before... just none that were brought out to the public. al kaida existed before 9/11 but you didn't know about it before that did yah? (and yes, the lower case letters were intentional)

Not trying to be a "Richard Cranium" here, but "Al Qaeda" was known by those of us that have an interest in National Security... even before 9/11.

I myself would like to see how these AFTs develop as they grow.... will they retain any "blue"?

I agree, the Fat Tail market needs a jump start and this would be a cool way to due it. Keep us updated on their progress for sure!

Well I thought I would update everyone on this project. Still too early to tell what is going on at this point, but all the offspring from this ones parents have some degree of blue/blueish grey coloring to their tails. I have also noticed on some that the dark bands are fading to a lavender color through the body and tail. I've attached a photo of one of our best Fattails displaying this coloration. This male was born on 1-11-06 and keeps getting better with every shed.
