Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does anyone know how Boamaster cages are heated with Flexwatt tape? I saw some pictures online a while back where the cage was heated by securing a piece of Flexwatt to the ceiling of the cage below it.

He recommends flexwatt if your herp room is 75 degrees or warmer, which mine is, but I don't think I want to use this particular arrangement of heat tape. Does anyone with Boamaster cages know?

Thanks in advance.

When I bought mine that is what he told me to do just put flexwatt underneath it. I ended up going with a zoomed mat and it has worked fine

I currently have 3 stacks of the 4 foot X 30 " deep model with pedestals and dividers. assembly is a piece of cake. it took me less than 2 hours to assemble 4 cages and a pedestal and stack them. I would recommend putting some plastic furniture glides or wheels on them to make relocation easy. I use the glides and I can easily push each stack around with ease. The flexwatt would have to be used with a thermostat and in my opinion is not a good choice. I use heat panels in all of my cages regardless of brand. a little more costly upfront but worth the investment. putting the flexwatt underneath a wooden cage is inefficient. It will make the floor warm but does not provide the proper ambient temps most reptiles need. flexwatt does not provide that deep penetrating heat that a good panel will.

Did you purchase the radiant heat panels from BoaMaster (the option you can get with the cage for an extra, I think $60.00 each) or did you just buy the cages by themselves and purchase the heat panels from a different company. If you bought them from a different company, which company did you buy them from? Thanks!

I tried the flexwatt that came with them first. then purchased my panels later from Pro Products. they also sell misting systems and Provent a Mite. if mark will throw you heat panels for 60 each i would take that. I paid 95 each from pro products plus additional shipping. hope that helps.

Where'd you stick the heat panels? What did you use to secure them down? Are the heat panels from Pro-Products good? What are your ambient temps running at? Also, do you use a Tstat with the panels? What kind do you use? Thanks and please answer all the questions. I'm trying to see whats best and what other people have done. Thanks again!

I located the panels on the ceiling of the cage and all the way to the right side when facing the cages. I lag screws drilled from the inside of the cage through the ceiling and then place a washer and small nut on the outside. I have been using pro products panels for years without a single issue. I use a helix thermostat on all my cages and have never had one fail. as for ambient temps it deponds on what is in the cage. my room is a constant 72 degrees . when testing the panels without an animal in the cage I have attained temps well over 100. most of my cages are set at 86 - 88 degrees.

Awesome. So do you overall like using BoaMasters cages with the radiant heat panels? Would you recommend anything different? Do you honestly like the cages and how they are built? When you built them did you silicone the insides? Did the cage pieces actually fit and come together nicely? Thanks.

I forgot to ask, what size panels are you using and what wattage are they?

mine went together flawlessly. they are heavier than vision, but they do not sag. they look great in my livingroom. far more appealing to the eye than vision or the other plastic cages. I did silicone the inside. when assembling these cages the rear panel has notches in them to run cords through make sure these notches are at the top rear of the cage. It is also better to run your cords through the notches before you attach the rear panel. I use a 60 watt panel and my room temp is approx. 70. I have so many large windows in my livingroom that I did not install lights in the cages. Just a tip if you are going to stack a few of these on the pedestal that he offers ask him to make the pedestal the same size as the cages. you will notice in his ads his pedestal is not the same length as the cage. In my opinion over time this might lead to the ends sagging and splitting your silicone seals. he made mine as I requested. Mark is very easy to deal with. These are great display cages if you want something a lot less commercial looking. He will also engrave a design or your name in them. so far they are great and the service is the best.
