A quick question about piebald phenotypic expression...
I've seen some Pieds with 80% white and some with as little as a quarter-sized patch of white. I've heard that the low-white individuals are capable of producing offspring with high white. Is this true? Is it really variable like that, or have high-white individuals been proven to produce a larger percentage of high-white babies?
On a side note, I also noticed that some pieds have definite black borders around their "normal" patterns, some don't. Are there any breeders out there producing specific pied pattern traits (or is it even possible)?
Thanks ahead of time for the info. I am looking to get into a pied breeding project (starting with hets..$$$).
