    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello everybody! Yesterday we went to a Reptile Show and it was incredible. My dad took me, and he had a great time as well. Monitors, geckos, beardies, turtles, salamanders, frogs, iguanas, supplies and equiptment galore. I loved it!

As we were walking by the LLLReptile stand my dad stopped at the tortoises. He has always loved tortoises and has always regretted not bringing home a Box Turtle had had fallen in love with. He started asking questions and then asked which one I wanted. I was like, no way! I was soo happy. If my mom was there we would have come home with a few more beardies, too! Well, we got our Sulcata Tortoise and he is great. We named him Brad :D We know he will get up to 200 pounds, 150 lb. average and we plan on keeping him in an outdoor enclosure in the summer once he is at least 16 months old and then keeping him in an enclosed large shed area with heating lamps in the winter time. Since we just got the new addition yesterday, I have some questions that I was hoping I could get some answers to :)

-How fast do they grow? I read in a book that they will be around 14 inches in diameter in 8 years..is that true?
-What kind of hay can they eat?
-What kind of substrate do you suggest using?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated even though we got the basics from LLLReptile :)

Thank you very much!

-Breawna and the beardies...Axel and Miracle, the Alligator Lizards...Aqua and Twitch, the Leopard Gecko...Montana, and the Sulcata Tortoise...Brad.
