In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi All,
I have bred rats off and on for a long time.
Something new happened to me, and was wondering if anybody else has experience this.

My new mom had her first litter, and all but one of them has a wierd "twichyness" to them. Quite a few are growing their hair in patches, or missing patches, and all the whit ones have "white pupils". 11 total in all, and 10 of them are defective in some way.
Heres pics showing the white pupils, the patchyness, and a size comparison to the one normal.

Anyone else ever have this. Ideas as to cause? It's a first for me.
I'm gonna freeze them as they are, and give one to the vet to check and see if any reason not to feed them to rescues.

Opines welcome.

Ciao,
Rick

Hey David,
Well, I hate to off my 800 gram male. It took a while to grow that giant. LOL
But he is kinda mean, and can't hold him at all with out getting bit 2 out of 3 times, so maybe I'll replace him to start with.
Mom's cool, and likes to visit with me when cleaning, and feeding, so I will try keeping her and see what the next litter holds. Never had a rat that liked me before. Sorta touching. LOL

Ciao,
Rick

Thanks David. I got a similar suggestion also, from another place.
Interesting thing here. I think it has been discovered to somehow be genetic, possible inbreeding. Or at least they hit every syptom.
Check it out..................Here

Thanks for the input. Nice to have other oppinions............At times :)

Ciao,
Rick
