MY animals, of which I've owned a dozen and those I maintained at the zoo NEVER attacked live fish. Insculpta does very well in aquariums and success to that is what you feed them and how often. Feed the animals proper amounts regularly they'll choose plants over animals every time. If the animal's been WC and adapted to mainly fish or if you don't feed the animal often enough or get it hooked on animal proteins hell yes it will eat your fish. Iguanas, Tortoises, Bearded Dragons and Rodents are the same way, if those animals are fed animal proteins too much or too long it will learn to be a meat eater from lack of choice.
My purpose for pasting the Insculpta diet from the specialists website would be obvious if you read it closely. It supports that they do in fact lean in favor of herbiverous with the exception of seasonal or regional food availability. In these cases of limited plant matter they will settle for a cheeseburger instead of a salad........when you're hungry, you're hungry!
The growth rate of herbiverous animals is directly connected to how much they eat of what. You feed animal proteins to a herbivore it will grow twice as fast as its counterparts for the simple chemistry of animal protein converts to animal mass easier than plant protein does. You offer a lot of animal protein you'll have a big animal in no time but feeding them mainly plants like they're designed for they grow much slower and steadily. That's why bodybuilders aren't vegetarians and strict vegetarians are built lean.
You never made any attempt at all to see if maybe I was misinformed about their care, did I actually have them or even contact me to size me up. Your instant response was argumentative, insinuative and insulting.............basically I was out to screw people. And you did exactly as the others who post in these threads , you drew your conclusion without even knowing me or dealing with me. One would think if I'm screwing people over left and right like you all make it sound there would be previous customers complaining.
All internet business's have people on the offensive because it's an impersonal way to deal with people. Human nature is fear of the unknown and we all have our triggers that set off a red flag. I don't know who's on the other end of this line so I'm guilty of the same thing, as soon as I hear the words Nigerian, cameroon or Western Union I think "thief". But on the flipside if Andy were to offer me animals from his Nigerian supplier and asked that I send it Western Union because he needs the cash I wouldn't think anything of it. I've never dealt with TurtlePimp, I'm pretty sure we've never even interacted but I know people that have and they trust him, that's all I need to know.
I don't like the fact we're quick to judge and pass sentence but I'm not going to admit to things I haven't done, change the way I do things or get upset about it all...........why should I, I can't change it. If my experience and study has me to believe these are slow growing, passive herbivores you don't have to agree with me but to judge me prior to checking into why I feel that way and claiming I'm a thief makes you more guilty of false information than I.
The BOI lynch mob doesn't bother me any, people jump to conclusions so damn fast some of the best people you could ever know have been drug through the mud on here. And there's always going to be nervous people that take that information and run with it labeling me a bad guy. And of course it affects my sales, no ones every directly said so but I'm sure it does. Even that's ok with me, all I can do is ask people to pay me with secure methods that protects them, offer all of the information about the animals I have and prove to them I have integrity.
PayPals TOS prohibits charging people a fee to use their service but allow the collection of "Processing fees" which is nothing more than a way to hide the 3% transfer. I'm not going to mask what they charge, hide it or profit from it by charging people a "fee". Using PayPal is not something I insist on it's an option to the customer. If I send you a postal MO express mail to secure an animal that was my choice, the additional cost of paying that way isn't your responsibility. I accept the fact it's an additional charge from a third party for their services. I'm not holding anything for anyone I don't know or that seems iffy, the checks in the mail routine costs you sales.
Status of Insculpta was recently changed during the CITES convention in Bangkok, the animal has been upgraded from protection by the Lacey act to a CITES II listing. Foreign bodies may very well still have their collection and exportation bans in effect in addition to CITES. The change was proposed several years ago at the last meeting and after population research they found the animal plentiful enough for a CITES II listing.
On a side note there are way too many threads about me. It would be much easier for people to figure out what a lying thieving dirtbag I am if all the threads were attached to eachother or if I could get Rich to set up a seperate forum just about me.
Webslave, could you please?
