    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Burmese that twitches?

I recently bought my first baby Burmese Python. The problem is whenever I go to take him out of his tank, he'll twitch violently and hiss and thrash around. Once I get him out he acts like nothing happened. He's calm out of his tank and doesn't show any further signs of agression. Is this normal for Burms? Could he just be a deep sleeper and get's extrememly startled when woken up? I have tried tapping on the glass, and waving my hand near his head... and I never get a response. Advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will have to agree with Chris on this.  I have bred burms for several years and you can never tell with them, I had one acouple of years ago that would play dead if you can believe that !!!  I have seen a green burmese that was suffering from convulsions but that was the result from the owner who was treating the cage for mites with " Provent-a- Mite " and did not follow the directions and that snake would twitch even when you held it.  Burms are great animals though and if this behavior does not stop I would invest in a trip to the vet to have some tests done just to be on the safe side.  Hope this helps.
