Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Cage for my Tegu?

So, I had what I thought was a perfect cage for Max, my Red Tegu. A large cage with screened tops from herpcages.com. Unfortunately, Max succeeded in ripping the screen off the top and escaping. (I found him though!)

So, what is a good cage for a Tegu? She's about three feet now. Thanks in advance!
 
I would say any Plastic Cage without screens, and with acrylic/plexiglass doors (so they dont crack glass when the whip their tails). Make sure they have Vents instead of Screens.

Vision, AnimalPlastics, Boaphile, etc.

Or, you could always build your own out of Melamine. My Argentine B&W is in a 4x2x2 melamine cage now. Soon I plan on building a nice 6 foot cage for her. And I think I want to build an 8' plastic cage if I get the hang of working with plastics :D. I would be able to leave her outside most of the summer in a nice big cage.
 
Just curious, how do they respond to the elements if they were to be living outside like that? I guess not to bad concidering they do it in nature.

As long as you provide a good area for them to cool off, and a large water bowl or water area, they are fine. The main thing with keeping them outside is just make sure they dont overheat and that they always have clean water.
