    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have the chance to pick up an 8 foot neodesha, that is 8 x 36 x 36. The problem is quite simple. The answer is what is befuddling me. My doors in my house are 35 inches. Therefore, while keeping it intact, it will not fit into my home. Here's the question (I have not dealt with neo's before).....is there a seam in which I can cut it into 2 pieces and then plastic weld it back together? I have not seen the neo's in person yet so have no idea if this will work or not. Thanks.

Some friends of mine have a couple of the 8 ft Neodesha cages. I don't recall seeing any seam - you could try contacting Steve @ Serpent's Den, I'm pretty sure he has some.
But if you are considering cutting it, does it really matter if there is a seam?
Then again, for what it is worth, it may be easier to take down the door frame than cut & repair the cage
 
Do you have any windows in your house that open wider than 36"? If not, can you take the hinge pins out of your door, the standard opening for entry doors should be 36".

This unit would have to go through my exterior door, through the basement door (32 inches) down the stairs where it then goes through yet another 32 inch pocket door into my snake room. So, cutting it down is the only option. I just don't know how difficult it would be to reweld it?

I'm not entirely certain, but...

It seems to me that the bigger 6' and 8' Neodeshas do have a seam and that it MAY just be bolted together...but I'm not certain. I have a bunch of the 2' and 3' slant front cages and used to get their catalogs all the time. I remember the bigger rectangular cages showing a seam all the way around the middle with the face/door assembly being one piece. It would make sense that they shipped those monsters in pieces (think clamshell) and had the customer assemble them for precisely the reason you stated...how do you get them into the house? What I don't know is if it was bolted together or glued together?

My 4 footers were molded as 3 seperate pieces then glued together at a later time. Yours should be the same way but a good steady hand and thin cutoff wheel would be needed to fit in between the seams without screwing up the cage.
