In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can't believe it's the first post in this forum!

Thanks! :) Yours is an absolute doll as well!

Ya know, I'm not exactly sure of his age, since stupid me forgot to ask the breeder at the show i got him at how old her babies were. But I've had him/her for almost 2 months so i'm guessing hes about 3 months old?

My little trouble maker is about is about 10 months now i think. I got him at a pet store so i'm not sure on the age. Thank you for the complement on my little fatty! lol

You, personally,

can think anything you want to. I have several freeroaming lizards, including Green Iguanas, Cyclura Iguanas, an Argentine Tegu, and Savannahs. The lizards are well fed and their other needs are met as well. They don't see each other as threats or as a food source.

letting animals like that just free roam and interact with each other is just plain ignorance. those animals come from different parts of the world, have different immune systems, what may not effect one of them could kill the other. you should not be allowed to keep reptiles like that. you are just flat out wrong and very naive...oh and nice burn marks on the animals, especially that cyclura, you should have that checked out. and how do they get proper UV exposure, sitting on a window sil? you're almost like melissa kaplan...what a disgrace

To answer your comments...

each basking spot ( and there are multiple spots per room) has a 160 watt mercury vapor bulb hung from the ceiling overhead. Here in Michigan, when the weather permits, the windows are also opened up for fresh air and the little bit of UVB that can get thru the screen. The scars on the female Cyclura were present when I purchased her 3 years ago and are from a very aggressive mate that she had while with her previous owner.

These freeroaming animals all have their own territory where they prefer to hang out and the environment is correct for the species, but they will interact and bask together on occasion. I have a vet that does home visits and the animals are never without vet care when needed. Most of our "pet" animals are used frequently for educational presentations and are evaluated for temperament and toleration levels. Thousands of people saw some of these animals together at the IIS table in Daytona and none of them reacted the way you have.

My Rudis and my BT have wonderful enclosures all to themselves. So do most of the 34 Green Iguanas that we have here right now and the other 4 Savs. My male Rhinos are kept to themselves as well as my Tegu pairs and my pair of Cuban Rocks.

I'm not quite sure how you can assume that I am naive. We have been doing rescue and rehabilitation for almost 10 years now. Some of these animals have been with me for all of those 10 years. I have seen torture, abuse, and neglect of the likes that you might never see.

BTW, I have read and spoken to Melissa Kaplan in the past. We agree on some issues and disagree on others. Doesn't mean that either one of us is right or wrong, just that we choose to do things differently. After 10 years and hundreds of iguanas, monitors, snakes, torts, etc., you learn what works and what doesn't.

So, if you care to make any other incorrect assumptions about my animals or myself, please do. I'll address those also.

never mind

never mind about my bearded dragon it didnt show up but it doesnt belong in here anyways

i will agree with varanidguy here to say thats plain wrong to intermingle the reptiles like that. iguana's that carry salmonella can spread it to the beardies and other reptiles, though it wont cause them harm it would just be another reptile infected with it. there are other things that certain reptiles carry that doesnt affect them, but can affect other reptiles.
