    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a friends carpet python and I know there are quite a few different types out there, but that is as far as my knowledge goes on carpets. :confused:

I am going to be selling her/him (was sold to her hubby as a her) and I don't want to misrepresent it. She is a big snake, 12pds or so at least 6ft.

Also, any advice on pricing?

The only realy question you posted was about pricing, and that will depend on gender and type....and whether it is "pure".
As a generic carpet, realistically, you'll be lucky to get $125-150 for a male, $150-200 for a female.

LOL, very true.

How is this for a question... how do you sex a carpet? I have probes & know how to use them, just don't have measurements.

At that size, my experience has been that females don't probe very deeply unless you're using a small probe. 6 scales or more is a male.

With jungles the probe wont go down far at all if its a girl, it stays very close to the vent. If its a male it will go down pretty far. Just be careful not to injure the snake. Does not take much pressure at all. If it wont go, then its a girl. :) As far as kind of jungle, I would say at that size and color probably some type of coastal mix, maybe a coastal/irian jaya? Hard to tell with it being in shed but it does not strike me as a jungle or a diamond, and, I dont think pure darwins or irian jayas get that big? All my carpets are jungles though so I could be wrong?

Looks like a Coastal/Irian Jaya cross to me. I think I see a little IJ in it. If it is a pure coastal and a female and adult (which it clearly is), I would charge about $200. I think $200 is a fair price.
