    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Our cat somehow got into the gecko tank. His tail is gone right at teh body and is quite bloody. He has a gash almost the entire length of his neck which we washed and covered in polysporin. His eyes are closd and stuck closed. He keeps licking them but the are dried looking andthey won't open. The look a bit sunken. He still walks around and had some to drink earlier but will not eat. How can I get some food into him. I tried to hand feed some crickets but he has no interest. And how often and how much should he eatanyway...with no tail?/ I don't know what to do as there is no vet around here. This happened about 24 hrs ago

Hi Nichole,
I'm sorry to hear the news. You may want to invest in a new lid for your geckos cage.
Did your gecko sustain injuries to it's eyes? why can't it open them? if it has dried shed skin around it's eyes and can't open them because of that you might want to try some warm water and a q-tip.
I'm assuming you have a leopard gecko.
it is very important to keep him hydrated. as far as feeding if he can't see how could he catch crickets or meal worms, so i think feeding him is up to you until you can get him to a vet or until he can see. you could try killing a cricket,and putting it in his mouth. don't force it in, get him to bite you and put the cricket there instead of your finger.
you could also put some crickets in a blender with a little baby food, and feed him a drop or two at a time. you can put the mush on the tip of his nose and he should lick it off.
your best bet though is to get him to a vet.
your gecko should probably be eating at least 3 or four appropriately sized crickets a day, but many geckos can and do eat more than that.
i wish you the best of luck.
