    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Irisis shed out this morning, I actually caught her in the act, which everybody said I wouldn't, so I guess I got lucky. She shed in two parts, the front half got caught and broke off but she shed the back half no problem, no pieces left anywhere and she is beautiful! She also ate a mouse for me, so maybe her days of being picky are over! I am going on a road trip today and taking her with me, she loves the truck, curls up under my shirt and if I get out she goes in a travel cage under the heater, seems to be content. I was amazed at how little time it took for her to shed. I had my digital camera all ready but when I went to take pictures the battery was dead lol. She still has that wierd spot/indentation on top of her head, I will get pics and post them after I get new batteries lol. I know this isn't very exciting for people who keep a lot of snakes, but she is my first burm baby, and though I am getting four other snakes, maybe five, later this month, she is special. I am getting two hatchling corns, a hypo and a normal (hopefully) two sub adult ball pythons, and am trying to find a nice woma or a black headed python. I am going to the Wasatch Reptile Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 14-15th, so maybe I can find one there, or if anybody has one for sale, let me know, hatchlings or snakes under six months preferred. Thanks for all the advice everybody
 
Congrats on your burmese. I picked up an albino green burmese baby last week. Am so excited, been years since I have raised a burm. Speaking of burms...I have an albino that needs a home. 8ft+, crabby, and scarred tail. I took him in because he was neglected very badly, and the owner was gonna put him down. Someone help!

How much do you want for him? I can give him a home until I can place him, I have some contacts and friends in Utah who do that sort of thing when they have room, but right now they are full and I would probably have to keep him until November. Btw, my girl finally took an adult mouse. I could have sworn it was too big for her, but I got frustrated because she was being so picky, and I was reading about how ball pythons have to feel secure to feed, so I put her in a small bucket where she could feel the sides and covered it for awhile, then offered her the mouse (I was holding it by the tail, which is a big no no, but I kept dropping it from the tongs and I figured that the mouse was too big for her to swallow in one bite and my fingers too) and she very gently took it from me, so I covered her back up and waited a few minutes. The next time I looked she had constricted it and it was almost gone. I wasn't going to feed her anymore but the first small mouse she refused was still in with her and while I was running water in the sink for her bath the little pig ate the other mouse! I'm so glad she'll eat real food now! Anyway, I handle my pets every day, maybe I could help your crabby albino...
 
Btw, does tearing half the shed off on her tree count as a bad shed? I have two pieces and nothing was retained, she didn't use just one object to help take it off, she kind of moved around the cage and kept hooking it on different things, kept going through her water dish. I don't think it was a botched shed, more like an accidental tear, but I could be wrong...?

Not at all. A bad shed is when pieces of the old skin do not come off. These pieces can sometimes be difficult to remove, especially after a few days. There are a few techniques for removal of adhered sheds, depending on how much is there and how willing it is to come off.
 
I think this burm has something wrong with his eyes. It doesn't look like it, but he acts likes he doesn't see you half the time. Then other times when he does know you are close he acts defensive (striking at the glass to bite you) then covers his head with his coils. I think it is more of a defensive, or frightened, reaction than an aggressive one. Feel bad for him cause he's in such rough shape. I just didn't want to see him get put down.
