    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just completed a new boa cage, I am getting ready to install a 2 foot strip of 11" flexwatt for a hot spot. I am thinking of siliconing the flexwatt to the bottom of ceramic tiles and then siliconing the tile into place in the cage and sealing all the way around them. Then I will attach the probe directly on top of the tile. Has anyone tried this? Will this cause too much of a heat build up between the tile and the melamine?

i have done something like that except i didn't attach it to the tile i just put it under it .but i heard you need some airflow or something so what i did was drilled some holes under where the heat tape will be not alot just enough where i think it wouldn't over heat and then in stead of sealing the tile in ,because if you ever need to get under there and it is all sealed you might have to break the tile up ..well what i did was use some vinyl cove base around the bottom of the enclosure and then sealed that..i haven't had any problems with it so far.and it doesn't get to hot but it would depend on the size of your enclosure i have a 2 foot 11 inch strip in a 5 foot long 4 foot deep and stays where i want it the tile doesn't get to hot

It actually looks like it will work quite well. I installed 4 ceramic tiles 2 on top of 2, with the flexwatt sandwiched in between. I caulked the bottom tiles down, put the flexwatt in and caulked the edges of the second tiles. Then I caulked all the way around the tiles and let it dry. The first day it took about an hour to heat up the thermal mass, now it stays at a perfect 92 degrees. :)
