    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Classifieds snafu

Well, I am not sure which type I like better. I REALLY like the newer ones because you can see pictures/prices of the animal being advertised without having to open the ads.

But, on the other hand, I like how we could bump ads in the forum type classifieds.

Am I missing something? I loved the picture/price ads as well, but now its all in forum form. Was it moved or somehting?
 
Since there are so many bugs in the pp ads, then I think running the forum based ads are appropriate.

However, one thought that I have would be to somehow put the date the ad was originally posted next to the headline or the user name. It just gets frustrating for me when I'm browsing, I'll click on something that someone posted a response to, only find out that the ad is extremely old. Perhaps having an original posting date right up front with help with this.

has anybody noticed that the turtle ads are showing old ads and only 2 new ones what has happened anybody ?

That shouldn't be very surprising. That section was closed to new ads since around July when I switched over fully to the new classifieds program.
 
so what happened? even though they had bugs (which i didnt notice nor did they make any difference to me or cause any issue) they were way better than the old forum based classifieds ads. so did you move them of get get rid of them completely? please tell me this new/old form based classified format is only temporary.

For now, they are both running concurrently. Sorry, but your opinion about which classifieds to use is not universal, I am afraid.
 
Guess I'm in the minority (what a surprise). I really liked the new format, especially the pictures that showed on the "home" page. Always a lot of variety, and many times a photo of something I probably never would have looked at otherwise. oh well.

I agree with you. I enjoyed them also, very much. But if the system is as buggy as it is being portrayed, then perhaps there is not a way to make it work. :toiletcla
