In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello guys I have a question about breeding carpets. I have a coastal female that is arrpund 3 years of age and is right at about 1700g in weight. She would be my first time breeding carpets and I was just wondering if you guys think she is of acceptable size to breed this year? I Will be breeding her to a jungle jag male I have. Thank you guys for any response.

Not much help when it comes to weight - I don't think I ever weighed my carpets...but I don't think I ever had one I felt was ready for breeding at 3 yrs, either. While I am sure that somebody will come along that can answer your question as posted, it might be helpful if you posted a couple of pictures (including a good size reference)

Thank you for the input I'll try to take some pics a little later and post them.

She is in good health and has some good size to her. She is about 6-7 foot.

I typically put my carpets through the breeding trials starting at 2.5 yrs, most of them go then. They don't have to as big as you've seen, they breed a lot smaller then you'd think. Typically 5 ft and as big around as a soda can is a good starting point.
Oh and she looks plenty big enough!

Thanks man yeah she actually gave me 8 eggs and 3 slugs but another 3 of the eggs were infertile. so but the remaining 5 eggs are about to have in a few days!

So I bred her to an unrelated jungle jag and out of the the 5 I got 2 normals 1 axanthic 1 jag and 1 axanthic jag. I was unaware that they were both het axanthic!
