I thought it would be fun to post pictures showing some incredible mimicry.
In each pair of pics, roaches are on the top, and the beetles are on the bottom.
Roach #1: Diploptera punctata, commonly known as the Pacific beetle mimic compared to a june bug.
Roach #2 Schultesia lampyridiformis, aka the firefly mimic. They don't glow, but I'm sure they're able to evade predators that try not to eat fireflies. Fireflies belong to the beetle family Lampyridae (notice the similarity in the names). There are some beetles in Cantharidae that also resemble fireflies.
Roach #3 Therea petiveriana, the domino roach. I picked a picture of a beetle from the family Silphidae.
