    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

After looking at their website, I don't understand how they even have customers. Everything about that site is nothing but arrogance, and greed.

I can't believe anyone is that stupid! Selling eggs?
We buy our aspen bedding from them because its a good price, $23.00 bale shipped, but not anymore if this is the type of crap they are going to try to pull. We had a problem with some rats we bought from them that showed up, with dry ice on the rats, and the bags broke open. We had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund and even then it was only half of what we lost. That is rediculus about the eggs.

Isn't it a little strange that he has sold ALL of his geckos on his website?

Not when you consider that it doesn't look like the website has been updated since sometime in 2005...

I do like how he makes it sound like he is a big time breeder of all things cold blooded, but all his available page showed was leopard geckos from a couple of years ago. I guess the book he has on there, he wrote himself; I have never seen nor heard of it before though.....

Wow, his latest ad is even worse:

Flawed leopard geckos?

Wow that's a whole new low...selling "flawed" leopard geckos as a sale item... so many things wrong with that I can't even begin. Perhaps they are flawed from improper handling of the eggs... there's a thought!

Based on his terms on the website I'm suprised you got anything back. That's definitely lawyer-written and probably pretty good. His contact page also shows that Cold Bloods is a registered trademark but I was unable to find anything in the USPTO site search.

As for the animals on his site, notice most of them are a combination of the same group of 3-5 hatch dates and weights over and over again with different IDs. This seems like a guy who truely doesn't care about the animals and is just out to make a buck... it's just another business venture to put under his belt.

Here's the registration info on the domain for historical purposes (and because he hides behind a PO box and a seperate phone number on the website):

For those who aren't familiar with the incubation need of a leopard gecko...

Sharp changes in temperatures...even a few degrees...are known to cause mild to severe deformations. That's if the egg survives long enough to hatch.

Leo eggs cannot be rotated during incubation. Flipping the egg after the embryo has attached itself with cause the embryo to die. Many breeders have lost countless eggs due to accidentally dropping/dumping a shelf or container with eggs.

Due to those two things, there is NO WAY that this person can ship an egg and insure that the temperature stays constant and that the egg (or the box it's in) won't flip over. In short...it's a scam to get people to send him $5.00 plus shipping for a dead egg.

I'm not even going to touch the "flawed leopard geckos". :hot:

He is in it for the money and nothing else! When we had the problem with the rats he started whining saying I only make a 15% profit off them so I can't be responsible for any losses, I can only give you a 15% refund on what you lossed. After a few :censored: words on my side of things he finally gave in.The bedding we buy from him is $9.99 shipping is $13 he tries to charge us $30 saying shipping is $20 when the usps tag says $13.
The fact that he is selling leo eggs, and flawed leo's says it all about what kind of guy and biz. he is.Not to meantion shipping usps for them and charging $29.99 for that? He is going to get hit hard when people realize the type of idiot he realy is, and the fact that you can buy flawless leos for $10ea.
I will email him and ask a little more about the flawes and the eggs, see what he has to say.

UNREAL... I commented on this when it was posted on the leopard gecko forum, but not in the detail I wanted to because I felt that wasn't the forum to bring it up. But here's a little different. I got the impression from his first ad and his site that he was a greasy little character, I just felt kinda dirty looking at his site, the language, the attitide, etc. just gave me a real bad vibe...

This NEWEST ad confirms it!

This joker needs to be out of the business....

lol... I suggest you read his terms page as well.... if you can stand it....

http://www.coldbloods.com/terms.htm#top

That has to be the most densely written double speak I have EVER seen on a herp site... tells me a lot... sounds like someone wants to be sure they have ZERO liability in ANYTHING. Smart, given what he is advertising for sale!

I just emailed them with a bunch of questions about the eggs and flawed leos. I will try to post the answers here when I get them from mr. incredible himself.
The link on his web sight says it all: THE BLOOD MONEY!
We will see soon.

Good Lord/God... what brain-damaged/stupid law school dropout/stoner/chimp wrote/dictated that incredibly convoluted/wanna-be pretentious/confusing terms/disclaimer/CYA page... I hope/pray he didn't pay/trade/give anything of value for that incredibly/excessively/morbidly overwrought piece of tripe/trash/hilarity. His lawyer/buddy/himself should be fired/kicked in the junk for thinking/hoping that in any way resembled an upstanding/honest policy.

I honestly can't believe this guy thinks that this is ok to do. I went to his site, didn't read much of the terms, I just read enough to know I will never buy from them.

Got his responce to our questions on selling the eggs, and flaws along with his guarantees. The only problem is I don't know how to post it on here from my email. If anyone can post it for us we can forward it to you . Our email is : [email protected]

Thanks Josh :dgrin:

Just wanted to get a little more info on your leopard gecko eggs you are selling.
How do you ship them so they dont die during shipping?
Does it not make more sence to hatch the eggs and then sell the offspring?
Also wanted to know about the flawed leopard geckos. What is wrong with them and how bad are they flawed. What is your guarantee on the live/ safe arrival of the geckos and there eggs? I am interested to know, if you can get back to us asap.
Thanks again

Hi, J&J, hope the day is going great!!! Right now, we are working on a manner in which to ship leopard gecko eggs so that they arrive viable an extremely high percentage of the time. That said, as of now, the eggs are for pick-up or delivery only. We are always attempting "new" ideas, we have had successful trials with selling the eggs; therefore, placing it in motion on a grander scale. Both selling of eggs and hatchings work well for us; therefore, with the eggs, we are just trying new ideas. The flawed leopard geckos have nipped tails, toes, eyes and/or scars, other than that, they are just a regular old leopard gecko. With regard to shipping leopard geckos and any other reptile and/or rodent, the only method that we guarantee live arrival or is with Delta. That said, of the tons of reptiles that we have shipped via an other method, 99% of the time USPS Express Mail, we have only had one incident where a reptile arrived dead and that was a leopard gecko on a 100 degree day, where the other in the shipment survived.

Hope this helps out; nevertheless, like always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments that you may have.

Thanks again, have an incredible day,
Courtland

Thanks for posting that for us.
Just to make sure we don't get looked at as a bad guy for asking about the eggs, we only emailed him to find out his reasoning so we could post it on here. We have no interest in leopard gecko eggs, or leopards in general, as we sell snakes exclusively. Thanks
Josh :dgrin:

The eggs are only for pick up or delivery right now? What are the future options, teleporting? What a joke...

All common sense aside, why would you want to sell the eggs. If you are getting $15.00 ea for b-grade leo's why not hatch the eggs and sell them yourself. The only reason I could see is if there is a local school, give them a few eggs to hatch out for the kids but not sell them for $4.99 thats just stupid. As for delivery or pick up only, as you said what next, ship them usps for 3 day delivery and hope they make it?You can't possibly expect to ship eggs and have them arrive in viable healthy conditions, wheather its delta dash or usps.
Josh :dgrin: :toiletcla

I think by delivery they mean them driving them to you?
