    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is how I set up my hatchling corns, rat snakes, milk snakes, and other small colubrids. This is a 6.75" deli with lid, a 4" plastic potted plant bottom, and a 3/4" PVC cap. This works great and gives the hatchlings a good hide and water. The caps are easily changed out and dropped into a bucket to sterilize.

even easier...

I use the 6.75 deli cup for my kingsnake hatchlings also, but an even easier setup is to use a 5 ounce plastic "Dixie" kitchen cup for the water dish. If you cut a hole in the side of the cup for access, when it's put in the deli cup it can not be tipped over because the deli lid holds it in place! For a hide area, the snakes just crawl between the folds of the paper napkin "substrate". When the "Dixie" cup gets soiled, just toss it and cut a hole in a new one (or have a whole bunch all ready cut up and ready to go). Using this system, I can clean "cages" and change out water at about a 2/minute rate. Comes in handy when you have 50 baby kingsnakes...lol.

Thats the reason I came up with this because the caps kept getting turned over especially when they start shedding. I like reusable stuff so I keep about 200 hundred of the caps around.

question...

Are the caps glued to the flower pot dishes? Otherwise, wouldn't the caps just get pushed off? Reusable stuff is good, but I simply don't have the time to be washing out 100 little caps, that's why I like the "Dixie" cups.

No there is a hole cut through the middle of the pot dish and the cap sits down in it. They come right out and you can pop a new one in its place. I don't usually "wash" them. I put them in a bucket with diluted bleach water and just rinse them and let them air out a day before using them.
