In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I wanted to make some of those jam thumbprint cookies. But after I had made the dough I decided that I didn't want to go through all the rolling of the little dough balls, chilling, thumbprints, and all that. So I dumped the crumbly dough onto a cookie sheet, dropped spoonfuls of strawberry preserves and used a butter knife to spread the preserves like frosting.
They definitely did not turn out like cute thumb print cookies, they are sort of crumbly and not very presentable. I could not invite the Queen of England over for tea and cookies right now with these cookies but I hear she has her hands full right now anyway.
But they are extremely delicious!

Preheat oven to 320

2 sticks butter left out until soft
1 cup confectioners sugar
Cream together until fluffy
Add: 2 tsp vanilla, 1 heaping tbsp sour cream or sour cream powder, 2 egg yolks
2 cups flour
Mix just until combined, dough will be crumbly
Dump dough onto large cookie sheet. Spread it around and then pat it down.
Drop spoonful of strawberry preserves on top of dough then use butter knife to spread around.
Bake for 18 minutes. Bake time is crucial as the dough has butter which can burn so don't get on the internet and look at sale pages

Take out and set to cool. Sprinkle with 1 cup confectioner's sugar. Cut into 1.5 inch squares.

Sounds pretty good! I'm not into long, drawn out recipes any longer, so I get it. I think I will try it, but melt some little chocolate chips and then spread that like you did the strawberry preserves. Thanks!

and here I thought I was going to read about some issues with the windows 10 update or the phase out of windows 7.

I would venture to say that 9 out of 10 people on this site can do a better job explaining Windows than I can. But after decades of practice, I'm blessed with mostly delicious results cooking and baking.

I made an uber expensive cheesecake once that looked like it fell off 4 foot counter space but I had rave reviews on taste. A year later though I remade after learning a few tips and the thing was almost too pretty to eat. Half kiwi and half strawberry with lemon filling. Designed like the yin yang symbol.
