    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am going to be getting a Crested Gecko through rescue. I was wondering if anyone could post pics of their Crestie setups. I am trying to get an idea of how to set it up so its ready before he gets here. Thanks again. Also, if you have any other helpful tips. I've done research and have looked at care sheets, but I also know everybody has different things they do. Thanks!

Is it a baby or adult and about how big is it? I use critter keepers for those under 12 grams. I then put them in a 10 gallon tank. I use paper or paper towel for substrate but I have seen people use shredded coconut fiber for the ground. In the tank you can put live plants in there or fake plants. etc... Any specific questions. Sorry I don't have pics of set up.

Thanks. I am not exactly sure how big he is, they haven't told me that yet. They are making it sound like he's still kinda small. I was thinking of doin either paper towel or I was told that top soil mixed with sand works...but I don't know if that's really ok. I have lots of vines and plants (all fake) from my previous chamelone...so I'm going to clean those and use them.

If it is a baby I would get a critter keeper at Walmart for like 5 or 6 dollars. Put paper towel on the bottom of the cage and a wooden dowel or stick with fake plants wrapped around it. Keep it fairly simple with the little ones. I would mist it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night (you don't have to soak it just a couple squeezes of a mist bottle). Feed it CGD (Crested Gecko Diet made by T-Rex and can be found in most Pet stores) but make sure you don't make it to watery. Generally you can leave the CGD in there for two days just make sure it didn't dry out or mold (shouldn't mold though). The CGD is all it needs but you can feed it crickets or wax worms every once in awhile (up to twice a week). Some people dust the bugs in CGD. There is also Clarks diet but you will need to feed bugs in addition to Clarks because Clarks is not a meal replacement like CGD is. I would keep the temps around 76 but they are fine from 70-80 degrees. Just don't let the temps get over 80 to be safe. So no real added heat is needed. This is what has worked for me.

I forgot. You probably won't see it eating since they usually eat when the lights go out. The babies eat small amounts you can't usually see if they have eaten. I just watch for poop. If they are pooping they are eating. They don't poop every day. Also they are easy to see if they are getting skinny, but if you have a scale that weighs in grams you may want to weigh it once a week.
