    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

What can anyone tell us about David Boggs? Has anyone purchased any Womas from him recently? Thanks in advance.

I purchased a 2.2 hognose group from David a few weeks ago. Everything went smooth and the animals in arrived in great shape. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. I don't know anything about his womas though.

I have sold ball pythons to David and enjoyed the entire process. He was a pleasure to work with and obviously very passionate about his animals. I would do business with him again as either a buyer or a seller in a heartbeat.

Happy New Year

Me too

I sold David some Okeetees and he was very nice to deal with. I suspect that the reason no one who has bought womas from him is posting is because this will be his first year breeding them. When he came to my house last summer, he LOVED my womas and I am fairly certain didn't yet have any. He's gotten quite a collection together since, he sends me photos from time to time.

How long he has produced womas would be of no concern to me, he's a good guy and I'd be shocked to hear of any problems from his end.

David recently purchased a Suriname boa from me. The transaction was great other than the shipping company. After lengthy discussions with Mr. Boggs, I found he seems to have a true passion for his animals and I would not hesitate to purchase from him.

Thanks, Jesse V

David and I have had a couple of dealings and all went well. I treded a very nice female Suriname and a draft choice to be named later for an 02 female woma. she was in great shape and is wonderful animal. I have talked to him on a couple of occasions and found him to be knowledgable and passionate about his animals. By all means I would do business with David again!

shipping problems

I recently ordered a pair of boas from David Boggs over the holidays. Unfortunately they arrived dead due to late arrival or what-ever. Without me asking about a guarantee before purchasing, he offered my money back. I called him back and told him to keep some of the money but he still sent the full refund. Most people would have kept some of the money if offered but he went above and beyond. If he had another pair of snakes I would still do business with him. Thank you David Boggs

David Boggs is a Good Guy!

I too sold David a Suriname and he was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and displayed a strong knowledge of hepetoculture and the animals with which he works. I would not hesitate in the least to purchase snakes from him.

Woma Surprise

The reason we started this post is that we had used paypal to send David some money for an adult pair of Womas. (Which was no small amount of money either.) He informed us that he was going to ship on a Tuesday. Well we hurried and got a cage built specifically for those womas and got everything set up and ready. Tuesday came and went. Wednesday we get an email (not a phone call) saying he sent our money back and that he would not sell us the womas. His reason was that the womas were eggbound, which they clearly weren't from the picture and the history he told us of the womas. Then he said he took the snake to the vet who informed him that they were not eggbound. He then said he would not sell them because he no longer trusted shipping companies due to the previous encounter mentioned earlier in these posts. After several days in paypal limbo, we had our money back, we just wasted time and effort. I wouldn't say David is a bad guy to work with especially from all the other posts, I just think he could have handled that situation better.
He never even called!:confused:

Herpetoculutre

Please excuse my oversight in my post. I can't believe that I misspelled Herpetoculture of all words! I guess I should have been paying closer attention.
Sorry to all of you that had to witness that.

It may be true

in an idealic world, but after reading these post, it actually sounds like a dream transaction, no lead ons, no reship dates, no lack of communication, it was only a day later, you didn't have to hound him to get a response.

These are almost always the case it seems in transactions of late, I would think for the price of these snakes , and a full refund, with a short paypal delay is a good experience, he must have had a good reason to be concerned, be it he just could'nt part with them, or medical issues, or whatever,.

The hard part is I think not getting the product to fill the cage, the cage is ready, and set up , and in my judgement a good time to look for some womas. Just a thought?

Thanks to all the supporters

I wish to pass along my thanks to all my fellow herpers who have supported my good reputation and business practices on this thread. Though most of us have never met in person, it is refreshing to realize that there exists good judges of character. I am proud to be a recognized part of the herp community and continue to strive to produce top quality animals. Again, many thanks my friends, David Boggs
